Overview

With the Springs resort set to open in mere weeks, Trent Harrison needs to stay focused and see to every detail. The last thing he needs is a complication, even one that comes in the form of sexy bar owner, Samantha Burke.

Samantha loves her quiet close-knit community of Cedar Springs, just the way it is. The addition of a fancy new resort as well as its arrogant owner, and the change they're both sure to bring, is certainly not welcome.

With Trent pushing his way into her town, and her life, Samantha's resistance to him wavers in the face of the passion and heat they share. Change is inevitable, but can either of them drop their guard long enough to accept it when there's so much on the line?

A 100+ page story of a new Canadian resort The Springs and the little town it chose for its location. A lot of the dialog and narrative were repetitive, and the main woman character had an attitude and angst better suited to a teenager - very judgemental attitude without having gathered the facts. Explicit sex scene. Hope this was a setup for better future stories. A short excerpt of future book included.

A wonderful small town romance that shows us that not all change is bad. Samantha Burke loves her quiet small town. While she knows it needs something to pull people in, she isn't sure the new resort going up is the answer. In fact she's sure it will hurt her own struggling business. So why then is she so attracted to Trent Harrison, the very person responsible for opening the resort??? This one is very well written and the characters are fantastic. I definitely recommend it.

A great story of two people finding love where they least expect it. Sometimes no matter how hard you resist something it sticks with you anyway!

Ms Aitken has given us a great, short, intro to the new series The Springs... She has introduced the characters in a very generous way (I know because I have read the reviews of all available books in the series and recognize them all in the intro)... And, from this book I can tell that it is going to be a great journey in the coming stories of people who live and work in this small Canadian mountain town which now features a new elegant resort hotel... How the newbies mingle and absorb with the small town folks is going to be fun... Writing is excellent and the characters and story line are unfolding with each chapter...

This book was not bad, just a bit boring. I started skipping pages, because there were self conversations which lasted whole pages. It is a cliff hanger. It is well edited and had a pretty vivid sexual encounter which lasted about 15 pages. No profanity. This was just another typical romance. I had a bit of a problem with Jules, the young girl in the story. Sometimes she acted like a 16 year old, somtimes like a six year and most of the time like a spoiled brat. She was not very obedient or respectful, unless it suited her purpose. Then Samantha was not much better. This romance was par for the course as all characters were gorgeous and much sought after. No surprizes. Chick lit. Adults. AD

Glad I had the day off to read it all at once!!!! This was another good, quick read by Elena Aitken. As one of my favorite authors, I always go to her books to read and know that I can go to escape reality and go into my fantasy world. This book did it for me. It was about two brothers who come into a small town, The Springs,  and open up a fancy resort. One of the brothers, Trent, meets up with the owner of a small pub, Sam short for Samantha, and has an instant attraction for her which is mutual. The story goes on with the two of them trying to deny the attraction which they can’t and the going  ons with the opening of the resort and the upcoming annual event given by the pub. The characters are all well written and likeable. The ending is predicable but left so you want to read more so I’m glad that Ms. Aikens has  follow up books so you can continue reading about life at The Springs. There is a lot more action to be had besides just Trent and Sam!

This was a great romance read about Trent, a business man opening a new resort in a small town, and Sam, a business owner and a lifetime resident of the small town, who resists the change. This book got my attention on the first page and is a wonderful story. The chemistry between Trent and Sam is sizzling, and I cannot wait to read the next book and see where Elena takes us with the other characters that were incorporated in this book. I highly recommend this book.
