I was really disappointed on how this book turned out. The beginning started off really well and then everything just started getting confusing. The point of views kept changing between characters which really threw me off along with some grammatical errors where whole  paragraphs were repeated. The ending left me confused and frustrated for I felt it didn't explain anything to me. I don't want to spoil anything but aim characters died but them it looked as they didn't. Nothing was explained, I felt that the author just got tired of writing and just ended it, like wam, end of series. It's disappointing because the previous three books in the series are really good. Rae and Breadan seem to fight the majority of the time, no .one seems to know what they really feel, the whole book just leaves you confused. I'm sad the series ended this way

This is the 4th and last book in the Rae Wilder series. I bought

This is the 4th and last book in the Rae Wilder series. I bought the first three books at the same time and read them pretty quickly. I didn't realize there would be a 4th book, otherwise I would have waited and read them all together. I really hate reading most of a series and having to wait a year or longer for the end. And for this series, the third book ends with a huge cliff hanger.

My problem with waiting for the last book is not that I'm disconnected from the story once it finally comes out. I always go back and re-read the other books before I read the new one. The problem is that by the time it comes out, I've hyped everything up in my mind so that the last book almost always disappoints. And although I liked Summon, I didn't love it like I did the other three books in the series.

I think my main issue was that there wasn't enough Rae and Breandan in this one for me. On top of that, Breandan wasn't the same Breandan that I loved in the other books. While I understand him getting frustrated with Rae and saying the things he did before she left, that just isn't the Breandan we knew from the other books. He fights for what he wants. He doesn't just let her leave with Tomas...ANYONE else, maybe, but not Tomas.

I also felt like the ending was rushed. Granted, I thought I had over 100 (nook) pages left to read when the story ended and that ticked me off. I didn't realize the last 100 (nook) pages of the book were a preview of a different series. So, I quit reading the night before thinking I had plenty to read and finish last night. When I discovered I left off within 20 pages or so of the actual ending of the book, I almost threw my nook across the room. I will definitely check for book previews with every book I read for the rest of my life!

Anyway, back to the rushed ending. I would have liked a little more. Yes, I know Rae, Breandan, and a few others will live HEA. But I needed some resolution with the relationship of Cael with Ana and Connell. There were so many people groups in this series, but the end gave a resolution to only a few of them and left everyone else hanging.

Finally, I have to mention the editing. I hardly ever mention editing and can overlook a lot if the story is good enough. However, this last book had all the grammatical problems of the first three and then some. It was the "and then some" that I couldn't deal with. As others have mentioned, there were entire sections that were repeated. Those sections were actually easier to deal with than the ones where it was just a sentence or two that was repeated. This type of thing takes you completely out of the story.

I do still recommend the series. The first three books are fast paced and take place over a couple of days. But I bought into it because it worked for me. I actually understood the triangle in the first book BECAUSE this story takes place in a couple of days. Any other time, I would despise the triangle storyline. Anyway, if you can overlook the lack of editing in the first three books, know going into the last one that it gets worse, and make sure to look at the last page of the actual story so you know when you are truly close to the end, I think you'll like the series.

Is there a story in this garbled mess?

What in the world happened? The other books were some what childish, but pretty good. But this one was confusing and kind of dull. Don't waste your money i gave up after a couple hundred pages .

This one was left me disappointed compared to the others in the series. It started off great then for me it just kind of fell flat, which is sad because I really liked this series.

    Rae wilder series

I trully loved this series. Was a bit disappointed in the lack of full understanding why things ended the way they did. I hope that she writes another series with the other characters to let us know how they carry on. Does feel like there is more Story in the Wyld that needs to be told. Will look forward to reading more from this writer.

    Ending was lackluster

I really enjoyed this book series and was disappointed that the last book ended so badly. There was no real closure. I love the authors writing, however she definitely needs to work on closing a series. I am giving it 3 stars though because overall I liked the series and her writing style is good.

    truly disappointed...

I was a huge fan of the other books in the series but this one didn't have the same feel as the others. while paragraphs were repeated making it difficult to get into the story completely....as well as the constant changing point of views. I agree with other reviewers that the story started out great but, the ending was rather bland and left me with the feeling that the author decided that she no longer cared for the story line...I feel kind of ripped off, I think the author could have put more effort into this unpolished draft of a book....

    Ugh

Very disappointed, not in the story but the many, many, many mistakes in the book. There are paragraphs that are repeated, paragraphs that start over in the middle, and other spelling and grammar mistakes throughout. This is stuff that should have been caught by the publisher if nothing else. I was really looking forward to this book Penelope Fletcher has a good story line here but unfortunately it was butchered without good editor support.

    Great series

I read a lot but do not often write reviews, however, this series was so unique I couldn't resist! Author's way of describing the characters blew me away. I love to see the series continue on but the ending makes it seem unlikely. I will be reading more books by this author!!

Good fourth book in the series

I loved the content and continue to love the characters. A lot of surprises in this book. Lots of action. Truly hope that this was NOT the last book of the series but, it seemed like it was meant to be by the way the book ended. What kept this book from five stars was the editing. I'm not usually put off by a few mistakes here and there but, the book seemed like it had no editor at all. Whole sentences were repeated over again in multiple places throughout the book and I found it very distracting. But, I loved the story line and will be looking for more releases from Ms. Fletcher.

    Final book a disappointment

I was so looking forward to this final book in the Rae Wilder series, but was greatly disapointed in its release. I loved the other books leading up to this conclusion and would have preferred a longer wait to have a "finished" book. I swear this read as a 2nd draft.
The amount of multiple lines repeated throughout the book and words that were obviosly out of order, all which should have been corrected in editing, rendered the ability to escape into the storyline impossible. It also felt a little forced, like the author was tired of the series.
Ultimately it wrapped up the series, but was a frustratingly pallid read.

    Big disappointment!

After waiting so long for this to come out, delay after delay, this finale to the Rae Wilder series was a big disappointment. The writing seemed rushed, there were numerous editorial errors, and the main character, Rae, didn't have the same voice as the previous books. It was almost like he was a new character. I hope Ms. Fletcher's other series don't end up disappointing as much.
