Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
The kid-friendly format of this informative book about sunshine will appeal to many young readers. There are bright glossy photographs on every page and in many instances, the text is written directly on top of the photograph. On other pages the text is in a colorful box placed on top of the photograph. There are numerous pictures of smiling children throughout the book. Readers will learn how it is summertime in an area when that part of the earth is leaning toward the sun and the four seasons are also briefly introduced. Subsequent chapters explain the importance of keeping safe in the sun by drinking plenty of water, dressing comfortably, and wearing sunscreen. Of course there is a chapter on fun in the sun! This eye-catching book will undoubtedly attract young readers and it will also compliment any introductory lesson on weather. It is part of the "Whatever the Weather" series. Reviewer: Denise Daley
