Sunken Ships and Treasures

Sunken Ships and Treasures

by John Christopher Fine

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 6 Up The best part of this book is its endingspecifically the up-to-date bibliography and the short, informative article preceeding it that encourages readers to consult with their local reference librarian for help in finding more information about shipwrecks and treasure hunting. Fine describes treasure dives in which he has participated as well as exploits of famous (e.g., Mel Fisher) and not-so-famous divers in a setting encompassing the Carribbean, South Pacific, East Coast of the United States, and the Mediterrean. The book is short, easily read, and well illustrated with attractive color photographs that truly enhance a rather ``ho-hum'' text. The almost universal appeal of the subject will make this book popular even though it is very general. Don Reaber, Meadowdale High School, Lynnwood, Wash.
