A New Chapter
With the demands of Hollywood life behind them for now, Dayne and Katy Matthews continue to adjust to life in Bloomington as they look forward to a new chapter together – expanding their family. Meanwhile, the entire CKT staff is busy preparing for the first production in Dayne and Katy’s theater.

A Time of Uncertainty
The Flanigans rally to support Bailey and Connor as they try out for lead roles in the musical, but then the family receives tragic news that weighs heavily on everyone’s mind. At the same time, Jim Flanigan faces a decision that could drastically change his family’s life.

As John Baxter prepares for his marriage to Elaine Denning, one of the Baxters enters the most trying season of all. Will a time of renewed love and hope be strong enough to establish the sacred ground of marriage and chart a course for the future? Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
With this book, the novel series that began with Sunrise comes full cycle. As the marriage of John Baxter and Elaine finally approaches, one of his family members slides towards a deep personal crisis. At this troubling crossroads, the Baxters must confront both old problems and new challenges.
Library Journal

The final title in the "Sunrise" series (after Sunrise, Summer, Someday) picks up with John Baxter about to sell the Baxter family home and remarry after the death of his beloved first wife. At the same time, Dayne and Katy Matthews have returned to Bloomington to raise a family and run a theater. Fans of the previous 13 Baxter titles will relish catching up with this beloved family and witness its patriarch build a new life in his sunset years. Although Kingsbury's stories tend to be populated with one-dimensional characters and awkward dialog, her novels are best sellers (e.g., the "Redemption," "Firstborn," and "September 11" series), and this title will be in demand. Recommended where Kingsbury is popular.

    Highly Recommended

I just love Karen Kingsbury's books. I have read all the books up to this point. I enjoy reading about the Baxte If I had to choose who my favorite characters were, they would be Katy and Ashley. I admire both of them very much. And of cours, John. He is the backbone of the entire family. Thank you Karen, for writing such interesting books. I will continue reading about the Baxters. After I am through with them, I will be reading all of her books. I have just been reading books about 4 months now. The only problem is, once I start reading her book, I can't put it down.

    uplifting

After reading 13 books by karen kingsbury I have found her novels very uplifting. The story shows how prayer is an intergal part of the characters everyday lives. The first novel Redemption is the most riveting. The details of the character's lives is repetitive if you start with the first novel, still a great read!

    The Saga Ends

All good things must come to an end and it's time to finally bring to a close the Baxter Family Drama series. It's interesting enough that the word drama is used because that's pretty much has been happening throughout the series. It seems that anything and everything that could happen to the family does happen to them. It's quite a roller coaster ride with lots of dips, turns and loops from the first book all the way to this last one. In this book, we finally see the Baxters bring everything to a close. John has decided he wants to finally move on with his life and this includes a life with Elaine. Ashley has to deal with fears of another pregnancy. Luke and his wife must come to terms with their relationship. The family comes together to help out each other in times of need.

While I enjoyed the book, there just seems to be a little too much soap opera action for me. Affairs are discussed, marriages take place, pregnancies are happening, past relationships get brought up. Like I said, there's a lot of drama that happens to this family. It felt like all stories had to have happy and tidy ending but not without tear inducing moments. Now I myself never felt compelled to cry at all but I can see how some of these scenarios can force a few misty eyes while reading. I did feel though that everyone going into labor at the same time felt too coincidental to me.

Overall it's a satisfying read if you've been following the family since the original series. Everything you want to happen happens, and everyone is together again for the finale However don't fear that you'll never hear from the Baxters again. Kingsbury has already released another series, The Above the Line series, where the Baxters can be seen in the background. It's like a spin off of your favorite show with cameos from the characters. The Baxters will forever live on.

    I love her books

I love books by Karen Kingsbury. I hated for this series to end. I am now reading a new series by Elizabeth A. Ryan as I wait for more to come from Karen. Ryan wrote "Endless Love" and "One More Moment in Time" and soon to come out "Forever in His Heart". Kingsbury and Ryan are far the best Christian Romance Authors. You will not be disappointed in their work.

And They All Lived Happily Ever After

The Baxter family saga concludes with this fourth book of the Sunrise Series although the author promises to use them as background characters in future novels. This is a stand-alone novel, but if the reader has kept up through the Redemption Series and then the Firstborn Series, this book brings back all of the characters and ties up all loose ends in a satisfying conclusion. There's a good bit of repeating, but perhaps this comes with the fourteenth book in a series.

Kingsbury has a way of telling a good story while allowing her readers to know the people who live in her books. Though varied personalities, they all are believable. Children's voices are especially well written such that I can see his head nod as he explains about dinosaurs or hear her plaintive wail when she wants her pacifier.

Warning: read it with tissues close at hand. Any Kingsbury fan will love this one. Discussion questions are included.

    an engaging character driven tale

Dayne and Katy Matthews leave the bright lights of Hollywood to begin anew their life in Bloomington, Indiana where they plan to raise a family and to run the local Christian Kid¿s Theater their first production is coming soon. While Cody Coleman fights in Iraq, Bailey Flanagan tries out for a role at the CKT while struggling with her feelings for the deployed soldier. ---------------- The family patriarch widower John Baxter and Elaine Denning are getting married. He knows he must sell the family home that ahs meant so much to everyone. However as endings occur with new beginnings, faith, love and friendship guide everyone through the dramatic upheavals of radical change.--------- As with the previous books in the Baxter family saga (see SOMEDAY, SUMMER and SUNRISE), redemption and faith are recurring themes inside an engaging character driven tale. The Baxters are moving on but it is not easy to leave behind the evidence of their memories though they each know the time is right to do so. Sub-genre fans will want to read Karen Kingsbury¿s Baxter family tales as love and faith are powerful twin engines in the hands of this superb author.------ Harriet Klausner

    A reviewer

I've read all of Karen Kingsbury books and this one ranks among one of my all time favorites. I sobbed and sobbed at the end of the story, and could really relate since I have a friend who also had a child diagnosed with anencephaly while in the womb. It is quite a tearjerker, but like all of Karen Kingsbury's novels, it definately restores your faith and gives you hope.
