Because one death touches many lives, it is important for both those who are dying and those who love them to be prepared for the pain and grief that accompany it. Here Deborah Howard shares words of comfort and encouragement for everyone coping with suffering and death. Her compassion, firm faith in Christ, and years of working as a hospice nurse create a uniquely sensitive, experiential, and biblical volume.
Above all, she emphasizes that there is a light that cuts through death's dark shadow. That light is Jesus Christ, and He offers hope and comfort to all who are facing life's final journey.

This is the second time that I have purchased Sunsets. The first time was when my mother was dying, and we had just begun to face the hard questions about what care she would need. I gave that copy away to a hospice nurse to assist her with her other patients. I am now beginning hospice nursing, and I wanted to refer back to Deborah Howard's writing to assist me to meet others' needs. Sunsets is a wonderful book that combines stories of facing death with very practical information needed for both families, patients, and nurses. This book examines life and death from a Christian perspective. There is a lot of comfort and hope offered in Sunsets. I plan on recommending it to the families of my hospice patients if they are looking for something to read to help them sort out their feelings about facing the death of their loved one. As I said, it greatly helped me. It is an excellent purchase.
