Go from "Zero-Thinking" to "Hero-Thinking" with SuperCompetent!

What author Laura Stack says in her latest book "stacks up" with what I've discovered in my own communication consulting practice: Competence doesn't cut it anymore. She has coined a new word ("SuperCompetent") to describe the new expectation for those who plan to make it to the "high potential" category in their organizations.

The structure of the book lends itself to the productive reader. Each chapter begins with the bottom-line distinction between the mindsets and habits of the merely competent and the SuperCompetent. Cleverly labeled "Hero-Thinking" and "Zero-Thinking," these brief summaries give you the pithy idea. Read them and move on-or dig through the details of the chapter for quick, specific tips to accomplish the change in mindset or habit.

She covers six key areas: activities (selecting key tasks), availability (mastering your schedule), attention (focusing on your work), accessibility (organizing your information), accountability (assuming responsibility for your outcomes), and attitude (maintaining motivation and drive).

The book is chockfull of assessments and also provides readers with a website of bonus aids (SuperCompetentBook.com) and accompanying MP3s for further mastery. Highly recommended.

    Super Valuable Book

Ask executives which employees are most valuable to the organization, and they will almost invariably respond, "The people to whom I can point at a problem or opportunity and know that they will get the job done every single time." These are the super competent people-who are in control of their work-not the other way around. Laura Stack teaches us how to stress less, get much more done, and have more fun while doing it. Reading this book will make a positive impact in your work and your life. Fabulous!

Incredible Book with Career Changing Principles

The Productivity Pro, Laura Stack should be known as the Productivity Doctor. This book is like a medical clinic for those seeking to become more productive. I know it has helped me but more importantly the remedies offered by Laura have benefited the people I coach in my professional life. These people keep asking, "Jeff, how do you know how to solve my productivity problems?" My secret weapon...this book.
