A Perfect Tribute to the Original Superhero

Here it is! The thrilling beginning to the fabulous world of superheroes. I'm always perplexed by scholastic writing that attempts to analyze the influences and motivations of the creation of Superman and the other characters from the golden age. Like Star Wars, nothing about the things that came before and inspired Superman's invention seems to explain the sense of excitement and originality that comes off the page here. Reading these stories is more than a journey into history. You can still feel the sense of excitement and urgency that fueled the dreams of children who bought these comics fresh off the stand.
I also can't say enough about the quality of the book itself. The vividness of the colors and the smooth archival paper add a lot of value to this massive volume.
