Sean_From_OHIO is missing the point of this volume, it covers the 1987 re-launch titles of the post Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman books. It is VOLUME 2 of the series of seven volumes that collects the main 1987s re-launch titles Superman, Adventures of Superman and Action Comics that appear each month by different creative teams. It wasn't until later that DC Comics used the "triangle" to connect the story-lines thus with this volume you are getting them as printed. So its not random its that you have mostly standalone stories in their own series collected as Superman: The Man of Steel volumes. These were some of the best creative teams in 1987 that worked on Superman until the Death of Superman changed the landscape.

Wow! I thought this was kind of a reintroduction of Superman into the DC universe. At times, it seemed like it was. At others Superman would have some random adventure that comes out of nowhere. The stories here are all over the place. The art by John Byrne is, to me, the classic Superman. That's how I picture Supes in my head. This book might be good for nostalgia's sake but its not much of a read.
