Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The opening spread introduces the characters, especially helpful for those who may be meeting them for the first time. This is another good versus evil story in which Superman is facing an enemy named Mongul who is an alien and has a giant spaceship named Warworld. The Army is attacking the invader, but their tanks do not seem to be having any impact. How can one man even one with superpowers defeat this alien and his war machine? First Superman needs to save his friends and others from danger and then remove his opponent to a place where they can fight without endangering others. It is a big struggle but Superman once again saves the day. The cartoon style illustrations may give early readers a inkling of what it might be like reading graphic novels or comic strips. A level 2 book in the "I Can Read!" series, it is intended for those who want a high interest story. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
