Overview

Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. In the years after, their father, John, taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America . . . and he taught them how to kill it.

Sam and Dean are headed for Key West, Florida, home to Hemingway, hurricanes, and a whole lot of demons. The tropical town has so many ghouls on the loose that one of its main moneymakers has long been a series of ghost tours. But the tours are no more, not since one of the guides was found dead of an apparent heart attack . . . his face frozen in mid-scream. No one knows what horrors he saw, but the Winchester brothers are about to find out.

Soon they'll be face-to-face with the ghosts of the island's most infamous residents, demons with a hidden agenda, and a mysterious ancient power looking for revenge. It's up to Sam and Dean to save the citizens of Key West . . . before the beautiful island is reduced to nothing more than a pile of bones.

Just discovered the Supernatural books. I have seen all but the 7th season of the TV shows and love them. This book stayed true to the style of the show and had a great storyline. While reading it I could easily picture the people and hear their voices making this a fun and easy read. Recommend to all Supernatural fans. Now off to find another book in the series to see if it will hold it's own as well.

Written primarily for fans of the television series Supernatural, it takes the characters to Key West to assist a former acquaintance with a ghost problem. An interesting couple of murderous demons and vengeful Indian spirits quickly complicate what was supposed to be a simple case and things quickly get out of control with Sam and Dean stuck in the middle. This book, like it's predecessors, "Nevermore" (by the same author) and "Witch's Canyon," is an easy read along the lines of a well written fanfic (for those who don't know: stories written about the series by fans of the series - vary greatly in quality). It may also appeal to anyone interested in the supernatural on a superficial level. Descriptions of Key West are pretty much the way I remember from a much less eventful visit years ago. I'd give it a 2-4 rating for fans(depending on how picky they are) and a 3 for any other casual reader with a few free hours to spend.

Or perhaps the lack-there-of. If your looking to get your supernatural fix on that way too long, 167 hours wait for the next episode to air, then it might be worth the read. Maybe post season when I've lasted a whole month without seeing a single new episode, maybe then I might actually finish the Bone Key. I could only bare to get through chapter nine when I decided to just gave up. Most of you have noticed that each show has some what of a formula... Something happens to people we don't know and Dean and Sam stumble upon it and kick ass. Well if you want to read this book than embrace yourself, you get to read the beginning of 20 episodes. This author jumps around each chapter when he shouldn't. He and everyone knows that whoever wants to read these books is obviously obsessed with Dean, or maybe Sam. So maybe he should format his story more like the show and show 90% of Dean and Sam and not 60%. Give the people what they want Mr. DeCandido. My biggest pet-peeve with this book, more likely the author, is that he has his special words that make him feel like more of a writer. For example the word "emblazoned" which he uses subtly to describe what is posted on a phone or a t-shirt on three occasions to add a dramatic flare. And the word "lanky" he uses on more than one occasion to describe Sam's figure. Like anyone reading the books needs to have Sam's figure described to them. Sam sat his "lanky" body in the car... Sam walked his "lanky" frame up the stairs. Come on, I wanna slap this frickin guy. All in all this author just irritates me. If I had to bet on the career this man had before he wrote this book, I would bet that he is the same guy that puts in cheesy product placement in movies and television shows. Or maybe he wrote the dialogue for every part Keanu Reeve has had in his career, "Whoa, Excellent". I'm not takin shot a at Keanu, I love his work. Anyway, enough senseless rambling. Read the book if you can stand it. I would be ashamed to collect any revenue off of writing this book.

I love this book. I am a huge supernatural fan and have seen every single episode. This book delves more into the relationship of the Winchester brothers and describes in more detail of how they operate when hunting. Kripke allows you to get a better connection to the characters more than the 60 min show allows due to time restraints. I also love how the author made a little nod to Lutinent Karren Murphy from The Dresden Files!!!! Hopefully these worlds might cross paths in the future. I absolutely recommend this book. It is a must read for all Supernatural fans and fans of the fantasy/horror/mystery/drama genres..... basically just read it.

I personally love all of the Supernatural books. The writers have not dissapointed any of their readers so far. If you enjoy this book you may also like the CW TV show Supernatural that is on Thursday nights. Unfortunately the series is coming to an end but I don't think you will be dissapointed picking up from here. It has a fantastic mythology story base line. The books relating to the television series is awsome. It gives you a chance to actually feel what the characters are feeling and thinking. Me personally can relate to the characters better from reading the books too. Unfortunately the only problem is that there are few books published, but the ones that are published I feel you will enjoy.

I'm a die hard Supernatural fan and this book was just like I was watching an episode! I do have to say the ending was...well it was just CRAZY, and I mean that in a bad way. The ending doesn't even fit with the book at all. Anyway besides the end it was an awesome book! Sam and Dean's personalities were right on the money, the plot was very good, and there was their brotherly humor in it. This is one of those books that I couldn't put down! I recomend this book to anyone!!

this book i found to be amazingly mysterious. i love the story line and how all the characters were made to be in the story. i felt like i was there with how descriptive the book was. it had just enough mystery behind it to make it good without being unsolvable. i would like to read all the other books in this series just based on this book because it seems very interesting to me. it makes it just like the show and i think that is a great accomplishment. and i reccomend this book to everybody who love the series on tv.

This book was very well written, and kept entirely in character with what you would see of the boys on the show. I absolutley loved it, and could see everything happening as if it were on the show.
