Surrealistic Surferby The Golden Palominos
Surrealistic Surfer is neither a greatest-hits collection nor a new release. It's an oddball compilation of the Golden Palominos' early days, up until 1989's Dead Horse LP. It showcases a healthy sampling of Anton Fier's revolving door of musical accomplices, including Amanda Kramer and Robert Kidney. Two versions of "The Animal Speaks" also appear, the most notable of which features John Lydon on his trademark long-winded, soap box-like vocals. It's basically an early years mix tape that's being sold to the public. Which is curious, not because the album isn't good, but because it's a mystery why they felt compelled to release it.
