Excellent!  For those of you who think that there is a lack of great historical romances being written look no farther than this utterly wonderful series. This book is devastating good. It doesn't sugarcoat what war means. It deals with rape in a realistic and powerful way. Both of these characters have great grief. They are also simply wonderful with each other and gain great love. I highly recommend this romance.

So how long does it take for a man to get over the devastating loss of his one true love? A couple of months ought to do it. And really when he thought about it it little she did have a few small flaws. The big romance between the grieving hero and the gang raped heroine would have been a little more plausible if a little more time had elapsed or he had not been so madly in love the first time. Plus what was the big reveal from the old mid wife about? It added nothing to the story.

FANTASTIC! One of my favorite MacEgan stories. I loved how the author didn't have Morren go to Trahern's arms immediately after her horrible rape. You could feel the anquish Morren had when someone would simply touch her. Also, the love Trahern felt for the love he lost. There are some twists I didn't see, which made the story better. I loved this series, and Trahern is one of my favorite brother's. Better if you read them in order, but could stand alone. Greeat read!!
