Surrender to Temptation, Part I
Tempted to Submit

After walking in on her boyfriend with another woman, Devon Reid decides to seek solace in the small Californian town she’s often visited on vacation. Instead, she finds herself consumed by a dark, mysterious man who sets her ablaze with a simple look.

Devon has always been the good girl, but Zach’s touch turns her into something primal, especially when he persuades her to give up control. But while Zach can make her burn, he also runs hot and cold, seducing Devon one moment and turning her away the next.

When Devon starts her new job at Phyrefly Aviation, she learns that “Zach” is actually Zachariah St. Brenton, founder and CEO of the massive corporation. And while Devon knows she should keep things with Zach strictly professional, his overwhelming magnetism makes it impossible to stay away…

Includes a bonus excerpt of Lauren Jameson’s upcoming novel, Blush.

Library Journal
When full-figured office assistant Devon Reid discovers her law partner boyfriend was cheating on her and their entire office probably knew about it, she packs her bags and her insecurities and flees to coastal Cambria, CA, to recapture the joy of a favorite childhood destination. At a local diner, she meets “Zach,” a dark, mysterious man who attracts her sexually but repels her with his attitude, which fluctuates between interest and aloofness. Devon spills her recent woes to this stranger, who seems less than sympathetic when he abruptly leaves. As she walks back to her motel, Zach reappears, and after telling Devon he’s ruthless in pursuing what he wants, he proceeds to kiss her and fondle her before warning her to stay away as he leaves again. The next morning, Devon receives a note from the front desk telling her to go to Phyrefly Aviation, where a job is waiting for her. She visits the company and discovers her mystery man is the owner, Zachariah St. Brenton. Devon and Zach delve quickly into intimacy as strangers, and the erotic exploration of spanking, toys, and bondage drives the emotional roller coaster Devon is on as she vacillates about her feelings for Zach.

Verdict This serial novel features the requisite good girl insecure about herself and the bad boy billionaire, but it differs from those stereotypes as Devon often takes the more outspoken role and Zach dithers between obsession and indifference. The serial format capitalizes on dramatic ups and downs in plotting but is recommended only for readers planning to purchase all of the parts—no single episode stands alone. Readers who enjoyed Beth Kery’s Because You Are Mine (2012) will likely find this an even stronger serial. Jameson also writes historical, paranormal, and contemporary titles as Lauren Hawkeye.—Melanie C. Duncan, Shurling Lib., Macon, GA

Didn't even attempt buy it, even though I like seriel books. Once I saw the sample, I was completely turned off. If you are too afraid to offer a real sample, it's a good indication of one of two things: your book is too short to be considered a book, or it's terrible. So which is it? Because I refuse to pay for books shorter than 75 pages anymore. And you only showed us your table of contents as a preview-which is a little bit insulting.

    BEWARE

I was stupid enough to buy it despite the reviews. Got seven pages--title page, TOC, and copyright junk. NO BOOK! I will be sure to remember this author.

I've enjoyed other works from Lauren Jameson (under the name Lauren Hawkeye), so when I'm offered the opportunity to review new stories, I'm always game.

Surrender to Temptation is a series of novellas, about Devon Reid. Devon is a woman who seems shy, reserved, and has self-esteem issues. That is certainly not helped when she discovers her boyfriend is cheating on her. When she learns this, Devon just leaves, escaping to a town she loved as a child. Almost immediately, Devon is approached by a gorgeous, mysterious, extremely forward man. After a strange, erotic encounter, she can't get him out of her mind. And he keeps turning up, turning her on, and giving cryptic mixed signals. When he becomes her boss, Devon and Zach take the employee/employer relationship to a whole new level.

Okay, so I liked this. Devon was an "Everywoman", a girl many of us can relate to. She's not a bombshell, she doesn't have sexy comebacks, she's just real. I'm not sure how I feel about Zach yet. His hot-and-cold nature didn't exactly get me hot and bothered, but his sexual nature and the way he was able to rev Devon up certainly did.

Overall, I'm intrigued and curious as to what happens in Part Two.
