Overview

Janeane Linson is dead, and the impossible has happened: Every detail of her murder has been erased.

It’s Special Agent Katie Pratt’s first day with Ghost Targets, the division of the FBI that tracks elite, powerful criminals with the ability to disrupt the all-seeing Hathor monitoring system. And Katie’s first case is the murder of a young business woman who, according to video surveillance, has been strangled by a seemingly invisible attacker.

In her search for the killer, Katie finds a threat far more dangerous. Now she must find a way to use the system, her wits, and her instincts to defeat an enemy as powerful as the system itself.

Surveillance is the first book in the Ghost Targets series.

Crackling good sci-fi thriller. The technology is believable and well explained, the mystery never lets up and while the characters aren't deep, you do care about all of them. First in a series, but the case is complete in itself, so you don't have to buy more. I'm going to, though.

Good sci-fi tale taking place in a believable and not too distant future. It is essentially a whodunit set in a big brother society.

The key elements of this novel are based on a very possible progression of tech in wide use today. Wrapped inside a pretty good murder mystery this is a fun read especially if you are even a little bit of a geek.

This was a fascinating book. It was like reading 1984 but updated to current technology. No way did I guess the twists and turns of the plot and I usually can. Highly recommend this book.
