Babydoll

Babydoll couldn't have been happier when her mom tells her she's divorcing her husband and the two of them are returning to Oakland, CA. From the various visits over the years, Babydoll longed to be apart of the city life she had a small taste of instead of her boring life she was leaving behind in Louisiana. When they make the transition, she never imagines her life would take the turns they do. Babydoll takes Oakland aka Tha Town by storm. She learns that life of the city dwells on being with a 'baller' and playing guys for their money. The whole town was materialistic, and she easily goes along with the program to fit in her new world. Babydoll goes through many ups and downs, will she be able to survive?

Sex, Lies, Men & Friends

Peaches was raised by her grandmother and began having kids at an early age. She went thru many men trying to hold on to something she thought could be real. She's having another baby and she's looking to come up this time. Shamiya has been with her baby's father since her teenage years and loves him for taking care of her. She loves him so much she endures the physical abuse because she feels she owes him that. She's finally tired of him and his abuse and ready to make a life of her own. Ayisha is wild and free, and lives her life how she wants. She sees what her girls go thru, and refuse to subject herself to that kind of life. She treats men like they've treated women for years, love 'em and leave 'em. She bumps into one she can't just leave. They head out to the club one night, and that one night changes everything in their lives. Can their lifelong friendship survive the sex, lies, men they encounter along the way?

Meet the Author

Leila Jefferson lived in Oakland, CA until she moved to Ohio in the summer of 2004. Shes always been an avid reader with a love for English since she began school. The majority of her work consists of poetry. Being able to pour her feelings out on paper was an outlet away from the madness of the world.

During her teenage years, she began writing short stories. She kept her writings to herself, until a teacher read a paper she wrote aloud for the class. The response from her classmates, gave her the feeling that she may be pretty good at the writing thing. She practiced her craft over the years, and then took her first dive at writing novels.

Although only shared with family and close friends, she felt accomplished when she released her self published title Survivin Tha Game in the summer of 2005. She enjoyed writing that so much, she followed it with her next novel, Sex, Lies, Men & Friends, which was released in the spring of 2006. Her second novel allowed her to be a little more confident about her writing, and she began sharing her work with anyone interested. Being that she lived in a city that was engulfed in drugs, money and hustling, her writings reflect that, with giving you real life situations and people that you can relate to. She was published by a small publisher, but not happy with the outcome of that relationship, she decided to start her own publishing company, and My Time Publications was born. She hopes to be an asset to other authors trying to get their voice heard and help as much as she can. She knows the struggle of breaking in the business and making sure you're surrounded by the right people.
