About the Author

Leila Jefferson lived in Oakland, CA until she moved to Ohio in the summer of 2004. Shes always been an avid reader with a love for English since she began school. The majority of her work consists of poetry. Being able to pour her feelings out on paper was an outlet away from the madness of the world.

During her teenage years, she began writing short stories. She kept her writings to herself, until a teacher read a paper she wrote aloud for the class. The response from her classmates, gave her the feeling that she may be pretty good at the writing thing. She practiced her craft over the years, and then took her first dive at writing novels.

Although only shared with family and close friends, she felt accomplished when she released her self published title Survivin Tha Game in the summer of 2005. She enjoyed writing that so much, she followed it with her next novel, Sex, Lies, Men & Friends, which was released in the spring of 2006. Her second novel allowed her to be a little more confident about her writing, and she began sharing her work with anyone interested. Being that she lived in a city that was engulfed in drugs, money and hustling, her writings reflect that, with giving you real life situations and people that you can relate to. She was published by a small publisher, but not happy with the outcome of that relationship, she decided to start her own publishing company, and My Time Publications was born. She hopes to be an asset to other authors trying to get their voice heard and help as much as she can. She knows the struggle of breaking in the business and making sure you're surrounded by the right people.
