Growing up Deshaun had an unusual relationship with his father. At the tender age of twelve, his father had doubts about him being biologically his which subsequently drove him to the streets. Being loyal to friends nearly costs him his life. After evaluating his self, De was faced with the possibility of never coming home. While incarcerated he met all kinds of criminals and had to distinguish himself amongst the weak where only the strong survived. Being a stick up kid in the 80’s gave him the strength he needed to stay alive but there was still a void in his life. He needed to find out the truth about his father and the things he encountered while trying to accomplish this made him hit rock bottom. It is later on he figures out the reason for his estranged relationship with his father. This is something you might want to get for any child heading down a path of destruction. Thomas Allen gives you a real, raw and vivid account of what transpires behind prison walls from his personal experiences. Based on a true story, this riveting story is a definite page turner.
Thomas Allen was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the tumultuous eighties era when running the streets was not a game. Choosing friends over family, he paid a hefty price for his loyalty. Spending seven years in correctional facilities throughout New York State, Thomas Allen seen a lot and did a lot. In 1997, he was released and pursued his college degree from Brooklyn College and utilizes his life as a living testimonial for the youth of today. Through his experiences, he inspires those heading down a path of destruction so they won't make the same mistakes he made as a youth. Allen also appeared in The Canarsie Courier as a Top Story in April of 2008.
