    Angela Shikany

Correction, this book is fourth in a series of five related books. All her male protagonists are great. My favorite in this series is in this book, Hoyt, the jaded edgey ex-cop. He is passlonate, short tempered, and intelligent. He loves dogs and children. Roberts captures men so well, she manages to make even the most irritating y chromosome traits lovable.
