Overview

SERIES DESCRIPTION:
In the center of Long Island's zombie wasteland, overseen by a megalithic corporation known as Arc Properties, is a virtual reality gaming arcade:

GAMELAND

It's here that the rich pit the Undead against each other in a high stakes game of violence, money and power, all for the entertainment of the masses.

On a whim, six young computer hackers decide to sneak onto the island, hopeful of catching a glimpse of the uncontrolled Infecteds, victims of the outbreak there a decade earlier. But while breaking into The Game is easier than any of them could have ever imagined, getting back out turns into one hell of a killer.

EPISODE 5: Prometheus Wept
After one member of their group is infected, Jessie makes a decision to hand over another to a mysterious group of Undead sympathizers in exchange for a promised antidote. But will she be able to collect the medicine and return before it's too late? Will the medicine work? And will she be able to get them all back home again?

Approximately 41,000 words (roughly 150 pages)

EPISODE 6: Kingdom of Players
Armed with a potential antiserum to the reanimation virus, Jessica races back to Gameland to save her infected friend. Waylaid along the way, she must fight for her life to save another. Will she make it back in time? Or will her friend die and return as one of the Undead?

This episode approximately 41,000 words (roughly 150 pages)

Editorial Reviews

Goodreads - M. Nicholas
For all of you contemplating this book, I say, buy it now. The book will be updated each month until all 8 episodes are delivered, similar to a tv show that has new episodes. I am hooked and cannot wait for the next installment.
Goodreads - May Water
I really got sucked into this book despite being scared during the last half of it. Kind of like when you squint while watching a horror movie. Since I am basically a teenager at heart, I loved the characters. This author has a true gift of not only storytelling, but of speaking in the ageless voice of the young.
Amazon - Nick Mayfield
This book is a great read. I read the free episode when it was on sale and I was hooked. I have read all 4 episodes that are currently available. This book will keep you glued to it until it is finished. I am eagerly awaiting next months episode. I highly recommend this book to fans of zombie movies and television shows. I liked it so much each episode I read is completed that day. At my pace that is about 3-4 hours of reading.
Amazon - T. Jeffries
I've read the first three chapters and am having a great time. I like the characters and the fact that I've been "creeped out" a lot. I am really excited to download the next section.
Goodreads - Lori Parker
Because of the tv show layout of this book, the zombies aren't the starring cast. The rag tag computer hacking, video game playing, and tresspassing teenagers are. The zombies aren't even the main enemy. They are more or less a tool used by the enemy. This story takes place 15 years after a major zombie outbreak.

Meet the Author

eFiction magazine calls Saul an author armed with "a PhD and a whacked out sense of humor."

Saul spent his formative years in a leaky century-old house overlooking the Erie Canal in Upstate New York. His bedroom was a refurbished attic, which he shared with all manner of creatures, not all, he is convinced, flesh and blood.

After bouncing around the US and Europe for several years, he settled down to pursue a career in the sciences, opting to study the mysteries of human molecular genetics. But even positions as an experimental biologist, teacher, manager and biotech entrepreneur couldn't keep him from his true passion as a storyteller.

He now writes speculative fiction full time from his home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although his house is now attic-less and waterproof, he continues to be haunted by a variety of creatures, including a wife, kids, four dogs, three cats, six chickens, a wayward rooster, and one very grumpy possum. They are all flesh and blood.

Except, maybe, for the possum, which he's convinced is the reincarnated spirit of Jack Torrance.

Comments at the next res. Character Aps at result 6.<p>
Breakfast was pretty much ruined for me right then. I sat there for the next five minutes pushing my favorite egg omelet around on my plate. Even though l was upset about who l got paired with, l srill felt selfish for how l was acting. I mean look at Frank over there, he has a partner almost as bad as me getting Slash, and he seems to be holding up.<p>
"Alright everyone! Breakfast is over! Get your weapons and head out to the Arena! It's time!" Jack called out. The way he said 'It's time!' Makes it seem like he's saying something he looked up to for his whole life.<p>
I got up and walked out with Frank. Neither of us said anything. He went to grab his sword while l went to my cabin to think about every fighting technic l knew. I was going to need them all.<p>
I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" I yelled.<p>
"I would rather not." The voice called. "You know... because of your traps. Oh its Kenny by the way."<p>
I walked to the door and opened it, wondering what Kenny could possably want. "Hey why are you here?"<p>
"I wanted to give you some advise from one of the few people who has actually beaten Slash." Kenny said.<p>
"Uh.. no thanks. I got it on my own." I replied a little unsure about kenny helping me. "Thanks though kenneth."<p>
"Call me Kenny. Anyways. He is all offence no defence. You should go all defence and some offence." Kenny said as if he hadn't heard me. "You know. Where him out a little."<p>
"Yeah. I think l will get worn out faster though." I told him.<p>
"Anyways. I got to go fight Lukas. So... see ya" he said a little akwardly.<p>
I thought about what Kenny said the whole way to the arena. Maybe what he said is true. Flash is the most aggresive person at the camp. So maybe he does fight with more offence. I guess l will find out.<p>
"Alright! Everyone is fighting at once! So l will be referee. Remeber, blades only! No killing! And please try not to injure someone beyond repair." Jack said.<p>
"You ready to lose?" Slash sneered. "As you always have!" His buddies laughed like that was the funniest thing they ever heard.<p>
"No. You ready to lose like you did against Kenny?" I spat back. Oh man that was a mistake. I couldn't hold it in though.<p>
Flash's eyes slanted. I knew l hit a nerve with that. "He got lucky, pu<_>nk. You won't be so lucky." He said as he pulled his sword out.<p>
His sword is scary enough. With its blood red Celestic Bronze blade with a black hand and a half grip with a ruby on the bottom, but with him holding it, it was pretty nerve wracking.<p>
"Fighters get ready!" Jack called. I pulled my sword out.<p>
Next to Slash's sword, mine looked as deadly as a toothpick. My sword was standard gold with a handgrip that was just black tape wrapped around. "And... FIGHT!"<p>
More will be at the next result.
