Swarbrick/Swarbrick 2/Smiddyburn

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - James Christopher Monger
This "three-fer" from legendary English fiddle player Dave Swarbrick (Ian Campbell Folk Group, Martin Carthy, Fairport Convention) includes his first and second solo albums (Swarbrick, 1976, and Swarbrick 2, 1977), as well as 1981's Smiddyburn, the latter of which was named after the Scottish farm in Aberdeen where he lived at the time. Originally released on the influential Transatlantic label, these three excellent albums are comprised of lively renditions of traditional folk tunes, many of which are tastefully accented by key British folk figures like Martin Carthy, Dave Pegg, Richard Thompson, and Simon Nicol.
