Overview

Maxwell Kincaid had worked in the NYPD long enough that most things didn’t surprise him anymore. The detective, who preferred to work alone, admitted to himself long ago that he was jaded. So when he was called out to a hostage situation at a women’s shelter in the middle of the night it was another job that kept him out of his warm bed. He heard the sobs behind the maniacal screaming of the hostage taker and the woman begging for help pleading for the life of her unborn child that fell on deaf ears. This struck a chord in him, and Max was determined to save everyone, to save her. In the midst of the chaos, after storming the house, Max delivered Nicole Henry’s baby. From the time he looked into Nicole’s eyes and the face of the newborn, something shifted in him. He wanted to show her that every man wasn’t cruel and didn’t use his hands to abuse. Max was never one to believe in love at first sight, but the feeling hit him like a lightning bolt. Nicole and the baby needed tender loving care, and he was the man to give them the love they needed.

Very good book but true to Dahlia Rose form the book is only 156

Very good book but true to Dahlia Rose form the book is only 156 pages. Looking at it from realistic stand point a woman who was abused for so long would not move this fast especially with a child involved. BUT I had to remind myself that this is just for entertainment. I didn't give it 5 stars b/c I would have liked a longer book b/c I felt like this couple was rushed. But all in all a good read.

    Just Okay

I was expecting so much more from this, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. The writing is fine, and the characters are great, it was just that I didn't feel the story. I found it hard to believe that after an abusive relationship, she'll jump the boots off of another man that she just met. She really starts the relationship 10 days after her son is born. I just had a baby, and in 10 days, I was still busy trying to get a schedule worked out for me and my little one.
