Annie Sweetwater Wasn't Like Other Girls
All her life everyone she'd ever known had told her so. Except Luke Carpenter, who never let her limp blind him to seeing her as she really was: a woman grown, full of dreams, desires and hopes for a future—with him!
Luke Couldn't Remember A Time When He Hadn't Loved Her
To her family, she was a Dresden doll in a wheelchair. To Luke, she was his Sweet Annie, a woman of surprising gifts, with a heart as open as the wide Western sky. And he'd risk anything to make her his bride!

Luke Carpenter is the only man who's ever seen sheltered, wheelchair-bound Annie Sweetwater as a whole woman with no true limitations beyond the smothering love of her well-meaning family. With Luke's love and encouragement, Annie begins to defy those limitations and overcome the disapproval of a loving family who worry that her feelings for Luke will lead to pain and disaster. I loved this book. It was gratifying to read Annie's struggle and thrilling to witness her victories as she follows her heart and strives to be her own woman. Luke Carpenter is the perfect hero, a hardworking man with a heart of gold and the soul of a poet. It's rare to read a book this touching and emotionally rich, and I think Sweet Annie is Cheryl St. John's finest. She's proved once again that she's not only one of the very best writers in the romance genre, she's also one of its strongest and most unique voices. You don't want to miss adding Sweet Annie to your Cheryl St. John collection!
