I thought this book was different. It was a little sad but I thought it would be sadder. I think at the end she should have told more about Junior and Mealine It is about this girl who lost her father and her mom, her sister June Marie, and her move into a small house a little ways down a hill from the owner of the mines, Josh Clancy. Everybody thinks the Clancy's are different, especially Mrs. Clancy but it turns out she is just sad. Ginny and June see their dead daughters. Ginny meets Lou Jean Purvis and when she gets in trouble she commits suciecide. Ginny and everybody is sad and is especially sad when this new girl Mealine comes to the school and steals her friends and her boyfriend. Everything is going bad untill she goes to the Clancy's house and they are actully really nice and Ginnys mom and Josh Clancy fall in love and Mrs. Clancy offers her mom a job in Pennslyvania. At the end Ginny, June and her mom leave to live with Mrs. Clancy's aunt and Mrs. Clancy and Josh are coming later. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I know it was a great book. This book was basically about a girl and her family, with a loss of their father, Jed Shortt. Ginny, a girl with a great personality made new friends. Her friends inlcluded Lou Jean Purvis. Their friendship turned into a sad period for Ginny when Lou Jean left for high school, while ginny was left alone. Of course she met new friends at the beginning of junior high, but they left her once the new kid showed up. Melanie took her life and her all-time crush since 1st grade. All things got worser and worser when her dog, Buddy got killed but her momma met somebody that would change their life forever. This book also represents gossip, sisters, popularity, suicide, poverty, boys, and alcohol. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
