    Sweet Dreams - Indeed!

Sweet Dreams leaves you in a cold sweat, waiting for more!

A trained assassin is not the usual hero figure. But even in the opening scene the reader has a reason to like Mark Appleton. Then we are taken back to the beginning of his tale, the eve of his anniversary. This romantic man who is so obviously in love with his wife and life became the Mark we had just met? I had to find out more. The story took off with a bang and the chase was on!

A terrorist bombing changed the world as Mark knew it. A suspicious food poisoning in a prison killed all the prisoners held in the David's Island facility but left innocent personnel unharmed, alerting the persistent detective, Kirk Weston. These two unrelated events sent me on a quest for the truth, along with Mark and Detective Weston. I won't say more about the plot, twists and turns for fear of spoilers.

Aaron Patterson writes a great action scene and an intriguing story. I was quickly engaged and held hostage through the twists and unpredictable turns of this tale. With a likeable hero and a scruffy, determined detective, Aaron has the makings of a great series. The writing was well done and artistic; the talents of the author are being well used. I not only enjoyed the story, but also the fact that it was a clean read. Not often seen, but often welcomed.

So, do I recommend Sweet Dreams as a good read? Yes, I do. I was very satisfied with the quality of the story and the characters. The only real disappointment was that the story ended!!!

I can only say that while I don't consider myself a reader of suspense/thriller stories, I am changing my mind and updating my status after reading Sweet Dreams. Now I need to read Dream On, and on and on.

This is the description from the publisher's website. I liked it and thought you might enjoy it as well.

What would you do? Your family is threatened and your only hope of saving them is to kill! Mark Appleton faces his worst nightmare as he hunts a killer, but little does he know that he is the one being hunted.

Kirk Weston is a detective with the Detroit Police Department. His life, although not going as planned, finds him investigating a mysterious group know only as the WJA. Just when he is about to make a breakthrough on the case something goes terribly wrong.he finds exactly who he is looking for!

    Wow

Wow, what a great book. I was enjoying the story, thinking to myself that it was a good espionage novel when bam, right out of no where, a twist. A twist worthy of a soap opera, never saw it coming at all. The writing is great, definitely keeps the reader intrigued and wanting to turn the pages. Although the setting is the current time there is new technology introduced in such a way that one wonders if it could really be in the development stage on someone's experimental computer drawings somewhere in the world where money is no object. Both Mark and Dirk's characters are developed to the point of believability and definitely left me anxious to continue on with the second book in the series. Way to go Aaron!

An Emotional Rollercoaster of the Highest Caliber!

I must admit, when I started reading this novel I was not expecting the story that was presented! Opening on a dark, futuristic assassin/spy novel, I was prepared for the ensuing testosterone-filled ride through guns and explosions. Which is why I was surprised when Sweet Dreams took a much different turn. And I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Still chock full of action and adventure, I found a niche in this story for every reader out there; this is a book that everyone can enjoy. I'm already singing its praises to my friends and family! And the story kept me riveted. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it threw me for a complete loop. Aaron Patterson, you have crafted one fine masterpiece. You have my respect.

A very nice surprise in reading this book. Started out with a "rush" and almost a surprise on every page. You think you are going to be disappointed but it comes back with a starling move.
Loved it and will read others by Aaron Patterson. I must add the language was much better or nicer than James Patterson, although I love Patterson's stories, not his language.

    Dazed and Confused

This book opened with a great start that hooked me, but then it went all over the map. Mans wife and daughter die in explosion then without any real explantion-hey were back. Detective is missing for a year shows back up - hey no big deal happens all the time right. I think this author has great potential but tried to make this book into to many things.

It's a good story, jumps around a little too much for me and there wasn't an attempt at explaining dreams.
