Publishers Weekly
04/27/2015
In Ashley's second Colorado Mountain novel (after The Gamble), a biker bar in Carnal, Colo., is the perfect spot for a divorcée who wants to work in an unmemorable place. Lauren Grahame is starting to enjoy the simple life she has created for herself when she meets one of the bar's owners, Tate Jackson. Though Tate is one of the most gorgeous men she has ever met, Lauren isn't sure she can easily forgive the insulting things he says after their first meeting. Tate's apology assuages her eventually, and Lauren can't help but be attracted to this man whose kindness is masked by his gruff exterior. As sparks fly between Tate and Lauren, she is threatened by a serial rapist, and Tate vows to keep her safe. Tate's domineering behavior is offset by his compassionate nature; in both cases he feels larger than life. Plentiful, graphic sex scenes will appeal to fans of racy romance. (June)

Meet the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

    very good!

The story, although long and some parts unnecessary, is well thought out. I got bored having to read about every detail of her outfit and things like that. I also got very frustrated with the way every sentence seemed to be missing a critical word in it. I know that you want to give your characters their own twist, but the majority of people in the world wouldn't skip a word, making almost every time they opened their mouth an incomplete sentence, so it got very annoying. But the characters were pretty solid and the surrounding storyline was very good.

    Loved this story

I really enjoyed the characters in this book and that the author let me watch them grow. Some of the story stagnated, but the end was worth it. I would so totally live in the world kristen ashley created. Makes me want to pack up and find my own Carnal somewhere.

    Another winner!

How refreshing. I read the 1st in the series. The Gamble and fell in love with the story writing. I was not disappointed in Sweet Dreams. Fun characters and sexy sexy Tate makes me want to be a biker babe. I love how the author tells the story from only Laurens view. Its nice not bouncing from character to character as most love stories do. This story is like watching my favorite series with her very detailed story telling. Over 1400 pages of sexy fun. I wish she would continue the story with some of the other characters like Wood. Can't wait to read the next.

    Super good story!

I've read her Rock Chick series, Mystery Man series, & Chaos biker series, and enjoyed all 3 series. Its nice to see an Author who believes in the written word--her stories are over 400 pages long---and each and every page is filled with fun, descriptive, enjoyable and totally entertaining people, situations and all out everything you could ask for in a good story. This is the first book in the Montana series that I've read, didn't know it was not the first in the series until I was already into it, but luckly they seem to be stand alone style so I hope it does not matter what order they are read in. Lol. Very good story, highly reccommend it!

Mountain Man series is the best!

Sit down, get comfortable and start reading SWEET DREAMS because you won't want to put it down until you finish this great story. I plan to read this book, and the rest of this series again. It is that good.

    Yuck

I should have rated this a one star; however, the plot held my interest enough to skim past the God awful sex (which seemed to happen almost every other page) and Tate's masochistic personality disorder in order to find out who was doing the killing.

Seriously, if any guy treated me the way Tate treated "Ace" I'd run quickly away, biker code or no biker code. He constantly barked orders, told her to shut it, and cut her off mid sentence without listening to anything she had to say but this was somehow okay with her.

I really enjoyed the first book of this series and rushed to buy this one and cannot believe so many liked it. Hopefully this review wards off a few and saves someone some money.

    Not impressed

I really wanted to enjoy a swift chic lit book and unfortunately this one didn't hit the mark. I felt some chapters were so long and filled with unnecessary fluff. Our hero, biker bounty hunter Tate, lost his likeness when he becomes controlling over our lead female too often. Along with cussing in front of and to his son annoying. If bikers really do that, then my guess is this line of literature isnt their genre. But, I did find the journey of Laurie from post divorce life into finding new love in this small town enjoyable enough.

    Annoying

If laurie wouldnt say sorry, what, or excuse me after every line someone said to her so they repeat the line again the book would be alot shorter and so much less annoying!!

This is my first KA book. I didn't particularly enjoy her style of writing, so instead of a few hours, it took me about 3 days to get through the 400 pages of this book. I'm going to try another of her books, just to be fair in my judgement.

Lauren Grahame is looking to reinvent herself. After her husband

Lauren Grahame is looking to reinvent herself. After her husband left her for her best friend and she might have went off the deep end....catching herself going to the grocery store in her pj's and hair a mess Lauren decides to go on a road trip. She finds herself in Carnal , Colorado in a biker town getting a job at a biker bar. Where she meets Tate Jackson only to find he may look gorgeous he definitely is anything but nice. When Tate insults her she resolves to only looking but wanting nothing to do with him. Tate Jackson may be rough around the edges and thinks Lauren doesn't fit into his biker town, but he sees more to her. He sets his sights on her and is determined to claim her as his.

What Can I say about Kristen Ashley that I already haven't. The Colorado Mountain series has to be my favorite so far. It has everything a reader could want. Mystery, Murder, Charm, Humor, Love, and Redemption. what more could a reader ask for....oh yeah sexy men, tough as nails women, and adorable kids who make ya laugh. Some reviewers are complaining about the grammer and so on, but I don't think it takes away from the book at all. Rock On Rock Chicks!

I couldn't be happier! This was just so full of everything - great characters, drama, intensity, bits of humor and it was extremely well developed. Just an excellent read!

Full stories like this, with so much detail and imagery just make me so happy because I feel like I’m lost to a whole other world. I love that feeling. To be so hooked into the story that everything around me melts away. That's exactly what happened too - I couldn't put it down!

Tate and Lauren were so great. I loved their bickering and sweetness and their sexy times made me melt. They both had their own struggles and I really enjoyed watching them work it all out and come together. Tate - sweet and sexy, bad ass alpha male. Lauren – caring, loving, determined, and a really strong woman. They were just great and I really liked all the other characters in the story as well. There were just so many different layers with all these side stories going on and all the interactions were fun and exciting. I especially loved the new relationships that were formed, as well as the ones that were healed and the ones that were moved on from. But the relationship between Lauren and Jonas melted my heart, so sweet.

In the midst of it all the romance, there is turmoil, drama, and a suspense element that kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing. There was a part at the end where I was holding my breath. Very intense!

Loved the epilogue and how it all wrapped up and all the happily ever after’s. It left me happy! It all played out so well.

Another beautifully written story by Kristen Ashley, I just can't get enough!

    Love this story!

I loved the story between these two main characters. At first I didn't think I was going to like Tate, but I ended up loving him. It's a great story, and reading about all the other characters from other books in the series was great. Highly Recommend!!
