PreS-Gr 1-- Little Willy doesn't care to go to bed, so after his parents have tucked him in, he floats up `` . . . between the earth and sky, up where dreams begin.'' There he encounters an array of creatures--a bird, some deer, a pond full of fish, and then the wind, moon, and stars. He spends a brief time with each of them until one of the stars carries Willy back to his bed. The story itself is slight and a bit trite, but the full-color illustrations depicting stylized landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes have plenty of appeal. Especially charming is the double-page spread of Willy's underwater journey. Not an essential purchase, but pleasant bedtime fare. --Eve Larkin, Chicago Pub . Lib .
