From the USA Today Best Selling Sweet Home Series, comes Sweet Fall; a tale of heartache, beating the odds and finding strength in the most unlikeliest of places.

We all have secrets.

Secrets well buried.

Until we find the one soul who makes the burden of such secrets just that little bit easier to bear.

Lexington "Lexi" Hart is a senior at the University of Alabama. Surrounded by her best friends, her loving family and having fulfilled her life-long dream of making the Crimson Tide cheer squad, everything is going exactly as she always dreamed it would. But beneath her happy exterior, demons lurk, threatening to jeopardize everything Lexi has worked to achieve.

When events in her life become too much to cope with, Lexi finds herself spiraling down into the realm of her biggest fear. Lexi falls hard, victim once again to the only thing that can destroy her and, on the way, finds herself falling straight into the dangerous tattooed arms of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks.

Austin Carillo, starting Wide Receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide, must get picked in this year's NFL draft. He needs it. His brothers need it. Most importantly, his mother desperately needs it. Brought up in a world where the poor are forgotten, the sick are left to fend for themselves and no hero miraculously appears to pull you out of hell, Austin had no other choice but to make a living on the wrong side of the law—until football offered Austin the break to get his life back on track.

But when a family tragedy drags him back into the clutches of the gang he believed he had left far behind, Austin finds himself falling. Falling back into criminal ways and falling deep into a suffocating darkness. Until a troubled yet kindred spirit stumbles across his path, where Austin quickly finds he is falling for a young woman—a young woman who might just have the power to save him from his worst enemy: himself.

Can two troubled souls find a lasting peace together? Or will they finally succumb to the demons threatening to destroy them?

Meet the Author

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses. Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish, which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes. Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved thirty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. She regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint', 'lush' years. Tillie, from a very young age has been part of the theatre community and loves nothing more than to entertain through the mediums of cheerleading, dance, drama and singing (sometimes in the rain). She can also be found in nightclubs around the world imitating her favourite artists alongside her crazy BFF’s - The Teesside Massive - or, sat on the front row at the theatre bopping along to her favourite musical, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show ’, clad in a only a maids outfit, clutching a bag of rice and sporting a vibrant shade of red lipstick. One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, repeating the same tired line, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and 'just bloody do it!' Immediately she set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination. Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). After years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or in her dream of pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap, Stetson-wearing cowgirl... Ye-haw!

In this word of rapid-fire publishing, it feels rare to find a book that actually pulls you in and takes you along for the ride. This book? It does that. I stayed up until I couldn't keep my eyes open. I went into my office late so I could finish it. I cannot remember when the last time was that I couldn't put a book down. I'm not going to go into how I loved it and why... because I won't be able to do it justice.  Just read it. You'll be glad you did.

I absolutely loved this book, as well as the other two in the series. It kept me riveted until the final page. When are we getting the book about Romeo's cousin?

This was an emotionally charged book that opened my eyes to this disorder. I found myself wondering how these two could ever find a happy ending with so much of their world unraveling before them.

“We all have secrets, Austin. Some people’s are bigger than others, that’s all. Wouldn’t you agree?”  I’m not really sure where to start this one. I was an emotional wreck while and after reading this book. I mean, seriously. I loved every moment of this book. Every. Moment. There were three stories in this book: Lexi’s, Austin’s and Lexi & Austin’s relationship. I’m having trouble talking about the book without spoilers. This is simply one of those books you have to read. To experience. To start and finish in one day. To crave and relive. It definitely goes on the list of books that will haunt you.  I felt like Lexi’s demons were clawing at me as I read. Her pain seeped into my psyche. It was all so real. And no, it didn’t get tied up with a perfect red bow at the end. Real struggles and pain never do. When the book ended, I just stared at my kindle knowing that her battle continued past the pages of the book.  Austin had his own demons. Unlike Lexi, his demons were external, but just as dangerous and just as hard to ignore. He was strong and tough and everyone knew it, but he was dying inside. Lexi saw the fragility in him They fought their demons in parallel lives as they went through the motions of being college students. Just reading that and realizing that people do this all the time was heartbreaking. They were both so lonely and hurting. It never even occurred to them there was another way.  Tillie Cole's ability to bring such a difficult and terrifying issue to life left me emotionally overwhelmed. She wrote from the heart and it showed on every page. The topics covered in this book are quite serious and Tillie depicted them with absolute grace. I love authors; they are my rockstars, but I am brimming with respect for Ms. Cole and they way she laid her heart out on those pages. Everyone should read Sweet Fall.

I absolutely LOVED this book. This one of the most heart wrenching yet heart warming stories I've ever read and I loved, loved, loved every minute of it. At times I was kind of scared to get such an up close and personal description and insite into the life of suffering from the disease that afflicted Lexi. At times it was terrifying. Then we meet Austin a bad boy with a heart of gold and overflowing with love waiting to be shown how to give it freely and openly. The chemistry between Austin and Lexi is off the charts. Toward the end I was crying so hard my heart was actually aching. I mean ugly heart wrenching crying. But the ending was almost kind of magical and so loving & sweet. Tillie Cole is an amazing writer. The storyline is so descriptive it comes to life in her words. I extremely recommend this book to everyone.

What an emotionally filled book. Only a person who has been through what Lexi went through or knows someone going through that situation could fully understand the mental state that Lexi was in. I teared up during many parts of this book, not only because of Lexi but also because of Austin and his mother's illness. Its like these two lost souls were meant for another, to help each other heal and survive. Overall, an excellent read that covers a sad but very real problem that many females face everyday. Lexi was lucky, she had an excellent support system, even if she didn't realize it at the time. Her and Austin belong together, they compliment each other very nicely and as the series continues I hope to see more of them and more of Lexi's recovery. SR

The subject matter that this book revolved around just made me sad while reading this book. It's horrible that with today's society so consumed with body image that it causes so many many women (and some men) to starve themselves in order to make themselves feel beautiful and look like what they think is perfection when it isn't. I felt that Lexi and Austin were just perfect for each other in this book. I'm also glad that this book brought attention to ALS, which is a horrible way to die. Just like what Austin thought of his mom, the person's mind is perfectly intact while trapped in a body that no longer wants to cooperate. I liked Levi in this story and I hope he gets his own book in this series or as a spin-off because I want to see what happens to him. Being in gang, especially in the South, has got to be hard and to get out of one is even harder. The ending was nice but I wanted to know if Austin's visions of the future were going to come true, so hopefully in the next book I will find out.

I <3 this book! I love stories that touch my heart and soul.  Sweet Fall is one such novel.  I was always eager to find out what/why Lexi hid behind Goth makeup.  I had no idea Austin had so much to lose.  If there was ever a story that showed how two broken people can either build each other up and/or tear each other down, this is it.   First of all I have to commend Tillie Cole for pouring out her soul and personal experiences into this book.  It couldn't have been easy for her, but we the readers and the novel as a whole are better for it.  I have my own personal experiences with this disease and this is the first novel where I've seen it explained so honestly.   It adds a layer of honesty and depth that propels this book to another stratosphere.  Not only do we get to see, experience, and understand Lexi's demons, but we want her to fight them and emerge stronger.  The same goes for ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease.  It's understood there's no cure, but to read and comprehend what the disease does to those stricken with this disease and their loved ones was devastating as well.   The book is so well written, the pages flew as I read.  (I read this book in a little over two hours.)  I just couldn't put it down.  There were moments when I felt my heart clench with fear, times when I smiled, and when I couldn't sit still as the tension grew to unbearable levels.  I truly immersed myself in this book.  I was so engrossed in reading, I wasn't even aware of the tears falling from my eyes.  Even as I think about it now, my eyes are filling up.   I didn't think I could love any characters more than Molly and Rome, but I was wrong.  For fellow Rome and Molly fan's we do get to see them a little.  Rome is Austin's best friend, and their story plays out on the sidelines of Lexi and Austin's.  Lexi and Austin are truly unique.  They didn't meet under the best circumstances, but they were still managed to forge connections with each other that lifted them above the darkness that was drowning them.  This story is phenomenal.  It's a true mark of the caliber of Tillie's writing.  Every book she writes keeps getting better and better.  I've come to expect that from her and am always excited to hear a new book is on its way, regardless of the genre.  Her books have a permanent home on my bookshelves and will be on yours too.  If you haven't read anything by Tillie yet, please pick up Sweet Fall.  You won't regret it.
