I recently discovered J.T. Ellison and I really like her Taylor Jackson mysteries. However, I found this collection of short stories to be rather dark and not very entertaining. The writing is good, but cliffhangers, which are okay in a mystery series, don't work so well in short stories that don't have a sequel. Also, I found a couple of these "Sweet Little Lies" difficult to interpret. I know the authors at Murderati say they are "all a little dark," but these shorts were off-the-wall dark for me. For someone else, they may not be.
