Sweet Lorraine paints a detailed, vibrant picture of cahacters in WWII. Penelope Dyan has a gift for storytelling! Even for those who aren't WWII buffs, this story has everything going for it to capture attention! The author pulls you in from the first page, as if a family member is sitting at the kitchen table over a cup of coffee to tell you a bit of family legend. One gets captivated chapter by chapter to know what comes next! I highly recommend this book for all those that love stories that are like reading about characters that could be in your own family, as well as those who simply enjoy a well written story that doesn't leave you wondering how the book ever got into print!! This one is a winner!
