Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jody Little
Two episodes of the popular Disney show, Hannah Montana, are rewritten in chapter book format. In the first story, Miley and her best friend, Lilly, are put near the bottom of the school "Cool List" by popular girls, Amber and Ashley. When Miley learns that Amber will be a contestant on the show, "Singing with the Stars," and will sing with Hannah Montana, Miley's alter-ego, Miley and Lilly come up with a plan to embarrass Amber. Just as their plan is about to go into action, Miley has a change of heart, recognizing that her actions are just as low and inconsiderate as Amber and Ashley's "Cool List." In the second story, a new girl arrives at the school and begins to bully Miley. With her dad and brother away, Hannah Montana's body guard, Roxy, decides to help by enrolling undercover as a high school student. The two-dimensional characters and shallow plotlines of these stories will be unappealing and unimpressive to all readers except the most avid of "Hannah Montana" fans. The book includes colored photos from the actual television episodes as well as an excerpt from the upcoming Hannah Montana book. Reviewer: Jody Little
