Library Journal - Library Journal
Linked by the ever-appealing topic of food, this charming and delicious collection of Regency novellas by three veteran authors features delightfully domestic heroines who not only enjoy cooking but are actually good at it, pairs them with suitably worthy heroes who appreciate their efforts, and sprinkles in enough sugar and spice to satisfy most readers who like their Regency confections light, short, and sweet. A runaway gentlewoman captures the heart of a dutiful earl with a well-aimed cheesecake in Collum's "Cakes, Kisses and Confusion"; a half-French debutante becomes a cook on a dare and bullies a wounded earl back to health with salmon souffl and other assorted goodies in Wilma Counts's particularly well-done "The Way to a Man's Heart"; and a gentlewoman-turned-servant wins the attentions of her employer with her cinnamon bread in Jo Ann Ferguson's "Not His Bread and Butter." The recipes included are a definite plus. Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.\
