Editorial Reviews

Chicago Tribune
"A saucy combination of romance and suspense that is simply irresistible."
Romance Junkies
"Maddie Springer is like a cross between Paris Hilton and Stephanie Plum, only better. The dialogue is snappy and the suspense beautifully interwoven with Ms. Halliday’s unique humor. This is one HIGH HEEL you’ll want to try on again and again "

    okay

although the title says a valentine short story there is not much valentine in it. it was short just like it was supposed to be. but i had to wonder at the relationship between the main character and her cop husband and how that's working out. understandibly he is always gone and she makes it her mission to have one night with him uninterupted. I don't know how i felt about this short story and how it portrayed their relationship. the main character seems lonely. don't know if it was worth the dollar i paid for it. i read it within 15 min.

Not as good as high heel series

Love the High heel searies by Gemma but i have to say this one was a disappointment. It too short. It was like reading a chapter out of one her books that wasn't finished

    Great Short Story

First I want to remind everyone that this is a short story which is why it is short. That being said I loved the story! Gemma always leaves her readers wanting more!

    Love High Heels

I love all the High Heels books! Maddie "trips" over another dead body and her sexy husband is on the case. I would buy any book Gemma writes.

    A great short story

I love anything to do with the High Heel series. Maddie Springer is a loveable character and Ramirez is so hot. I'll take any story no matter how long to get a glimpse of their world.

    A good SHORT story

This short story was much better than Christmas in High Heels (which is horrible). It definetly is a short story but at least it has a plot.

    Too short

I know this was a short story, but it was TOO short. Felt like I had only read a synopsis of what the book should be.

This was a really fun, short story mystery. The author has a witty voice and this was an easy breezy page turner. I'd definitely read more of Gemma Halliday's work!

    Love this series!!

I got this whole series on my Nook, and I love them! I guess it's considered "chick lit", but I'm a chick, so there you go!! The books are funny and sexy at the same time. Sort of like Stephanie Plum series. I recommend!

    Highly recommend

I read this along with the other four in the Boxed Set of the High Heel Mysteries. These books were unbelievably enjoyable. Not only did they have a decent storyline, but they were hilarious. This boxed set is definitely worthwhile if you're looking for something that is pure entertainment. Buy the boxed set and read them in the order they were written, as the characters go from book to book.

To the 14 year old asking about the book

The series is not too adult for you. The books are just light, fun little mysteries with some romance thrown in, but nothing graphic or "adult" in content. You would probably like them.
