Everyone is digging this dino-mite adventure series!

Tom and Jamie can't believe their luck when they find a secret entrance to a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs! They vow to have a new adventure every day.

Loaded with snorkeling gear, the boys decide to explore the cove itself. They have fun with the dolphin-like ichthyosaurs in the bay, and even tempt Wanna out into the water. But there are some not-so-friendly creatures lurking, including a hungry plesiosaur that wants a snack! Can the boys save their dinosaur friends-and themselves-from the deadliest creature in the prehistoric ocean?

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
In this eighth book in the "Dinosaur Cove" series, Jamie and Tom return to the Jurassic era, taking along a body board and snorkeling equipment. They find their friend, Wanna, a small Wannanosaurus, and entice him onto the body board as they explore an inviting cove. When Wanna falls into the water, the boys put on their snorkel gear and rescue him. Three friendly Ichthyosauruses appear to keep the board from drifting out to sea. Just then, a huge Liopleurodon swims into their quiet pool, obviously intent on finding dinner. The boys, Wanna, and a pod of Ichthyosauruses manage to first distract and then attack the dangerous dinosaur, causing him to return to the ocean. The boys and the dinosaurs are introduced in a "Fact File" and a map of "Dinosaur Cove" appears before the story begins. A map of the Dinosaur World and a glossary appear at the end. This is an interesting and exciting beginning chapter book on a subject of interest to young readers. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.

My son read the first 6 books and couldn't wait to read the next ones. He was upset there are only 9 in the series. It's a book about dinosaurs and adventure both which most kids like.

If your child/student likes "The Magic Treehouse" series, they will LOVE "Dinosaur Cove"! Author, Rex Stone, does a wonderful job of bringing detail forward in a way that below average readers may understand and get involved in. One of my less than enthusiastic readers read #1-8 in a matter of 2 weeks!!! I had to work double-time to keep up with reading/making/entering Accelerated Reader tests, our program did not include this series.
