Get into the Swing of things...

I picked up this book to help my son learn to play jazz-swing guitar styles & I probably get into it more than he does! I've played blues & rock guitar over the years but always admired the chord wizardry of the jazz & big band players: This collection of articles & lessons from Acoustic Guitar Magazine is well organized & presented. The CD is very usefull for those not familiar with the styles covered and the author-teachers are all excellent players & instructors. After 3 months, I've yet to make it all the way through this book as several styles, from Django to Bob Wills, are examined & taught in a clear cut manner. Generally, the lessons progress from beginning info to more advanced in each style covered. If you play guitar & want to learn swing-jazz styles,or you're just learning to play guitar, this book is for you. Thumbs up...
