Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal. The animals in the area are convinced I'm the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I'm his mate. Now apparently I'm slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?

If they think I'm the right witch for the job, they've swallowed some bad brew.

In true RP style..this was funny and quirky as ever. With hilarious characters and interesting name calling, though I will say I was slightly disappointed at how short the book was. It seemed like Zelda got out the 'pokey', went straight to her aunt Hildy's home and accomplished her mission all within a few pages. I mean it's easy to get caught up in RPs books with all of the quirkiness going on but this one was actually short and straight to the point. There's usually so much more going on in her books, so to get something so short was very disappointing as I absolutely adore RPs books, especially her characters and creative name calling... I still look forward to book two... SR

Zelda is thirty years old and is in magic jail and her cellmate is Sassy who had sex with Baba Yaga’s boyfriend. Zelda had been in the jail cell with Sassy for nine months. Zelda had ran over her familiar- a cat- three times. Zelda and Sassy had been locked in Salem in a hotel from the 1900’s had been converted into a jail for witches. They were in cell block D - for witches who abused their magic too easily. Baba Yaga showed up at the cell . Baba Yaga was at least three hundred years old but only looked about thirty five as witches age slowly. Zelda had used magic for expensive clothes, shoes, and a vacation. Sassy used her magic to seduce men and had incurred millions of dollars in damages from her temper tantrums. They were suppose to be white witches who used their magic to heal and make Mother Earth a better place. So now both Sassy and Zelda had tasks to do while on probation with limited magic to use. If the girls did not complete their tasks in a month on All Hallows Eve they would become human.Zelda pulls away to go to W Virginia to do her task and had been on the road about five hours and then she heard a voice and it was her familiar - the cat Fabio was in her back seat . He looked pretty messed up and climbed to the passenger suit. Then Zelda gets to W Virginia and finds a community of shifters. She also finds out she is suppose to be the mate of Max who is a werewolf. She is also suppose to be the savior of the shifter community as she is a great healer for them. The shifters came to care and love Zelda. Also Max is the alpha of this particular shifter community. He wants Zelda so much. I absolutely loved this story. It was hysterical. I don’t think I ever laughed so hard or often while reading a story. This was a fairly quick read and I didn’t want to put this story down until i read the last page. It was a little slow at the beginning but that was quickly forgotten . I loved all the twists in the story and i loved the characters and I highly recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

This story is hilarious. The characters are great. Only Robyn Peterman can add such color to a witch story!

I am a fan of Robyn Peterman since I devoured her "Hot Damned" series, so I was eager to get started on this one, but now I am completely torn. To start off with, if I had not just finished the other series I would have given this book 5 stars, but while reading Switching Hour I could not help but compare it to the other books. You just make a vampire a witch and interchange all the shifter for her little demons and you pretty much have a similar book along with our heroine's inner dialog, which I found hilarious, and a hot love interest. I guess when you find a formula that works you run with it, and the books are a hoot to read but I pretty quickly figured out what would happen next. So now the big question, will I continue with this series and I am honestly not sure. But most likely I will pick it up since the books are just so much fun to read, even if they are very similar.

I am on page 16 and I am done. I read all the great reviews and wasted 99 cents on this crap. Did a 13 year old write this!?! Should I bother finishing? I want my measly 99 cents back!

Robyn Peterman has been added to my must read authors. Story started out a bit slow but as the characters began to flesh out - it was a steady and funny ride. Zelda, a witch just released from jail, must complete a task to keep her magic and not be stripped of her powers and changed to a human. Zelda travels to a house left to her by her Aunt Hildy. Most puzzling to Zelda is that she did not know she had an aunt and in addition she is the brother to her father of whom she has never met. This task that she must complete is not specified. Upon reaching West Virginia Zelda finds that her aunt was the healer of a town full of shifters. Shifter battles, a familiar cat, and a wolf who is Zelda's mate prove for a very interesting read. Dead line of course is Halloween! Copy gifted for an honest review by Netgalley.

Title: Switching Hour - Magic & Mayhem Book 1 Author: Robyn Peterman Published: 9-9-15 Publisher: Self-Published by Robyn Peterman Pages: 222 Genre: Sci Fi & Fantasy Sub Genre: Paranormal; Humor & Satire; Witches & Wizards; Shifters ISBN: 9781941377031 ASIN: B01K1BR4C Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley . Zelda, released from a magical prison in Salem after serving 9 months for using magic for personal gain (She is a fashionista to the ultimate degree but can't afford then Haute Couture) and running over and killing her familiar, Fabio, numerous times (even thought it was an accident)is told her release is conditional. She has until close of All Hallows Eve to complete an obscure task or she will be stripped of her magic and be made mortal. She has also inherited a home from her previously unknown Aunt Hildi. To accompany and guide her on her mission the Upon arrival in backwater, West Virginia she finds a is her newly resurrected familiar, Fabio. Upon arrival she finds a beautiful house out in the woods. Exhausted she lays down only to be awakened by a cacophony of noise outside her front door. When she investigates she finds an array of injured animals. Everything from a baby raccoon to a fully grown bear and Zelda could swear they understood every word she said. It is official, Zelda has truly lost her mind. Not to mention the hot and sexy werewolf who claims she is his mate. Reality is nonexistent because this has to be a dream. First let me warn you there is prolific use of profanity. So much that I nearly closed the book and said no way. I am glad I picked it up to read a bit more because the humor practically had me in stitches. There are vivid steamy scenes and some kicking of some furry tails. It truly was a very interesting book, but the language is the reason I brought it down my rating to a 4 from a 4 1/2 Star. Would I read the second book? Yes, now that I am prepared for the language.

Leave it to Robyn Peterman. She is again bringing us another outlandish, hilarious, entertaining paranormal series, Magic and Mayhem. The first book in the series, SWITCHING HOUR, sets the stage with two witches serving punishment for some perceived criminal activity (that itself is a hoot). This story is about witch Zelda who is a straightforward, self-doubting, a little nutty, but beautiful person. She has a familiar (cat) named Fabio. In lieu of continuing to serve jail time, she is tasked with finding out what happened to her Aunt Hildy who has disappeared. As usual when I have read previous works of Robyn’s, I laughed continuously throughout the story. If you want some quirky, good laughs; you should try any book by Robyn Peterman.

Absolutely the funniest book I have read in a long time!!! It has many laugh out loud until you snort moments! I love Zelda, her mouth is so bad she could make a sailor blush! You have to love her. Then she gets saddled with a job she doesn't want and makes friends with people that she doesn't want to like. Then there is Mac, YUM! At the end, I almost cried, I teared up and could not swallow! I can't wait to read the next book!!! I wish I could give this book 10 stars!!!

I've said it before (and I truly mean it), Robyn Peterman is seriously warped! Again she has created another messed up cast of characters that you'll fall in love with. Zelda has absolutely no filter, so everything out of her mouth will make you laugh! And Mac...not messed up, but seriously sexy. Lots of fun that leaves you wanting more, and more, and more.....
