I Also Recommend:
This is the first book in one of my all-time favorite series. The beginning is a bit slow and confusing, but it is definitely worth pushing through the first fifty pages or so. M.K. Wren creates a dazzlingly complex world in the future, complete with the history of the world from now until then. The characters are very realistic and lovable (except the bad guys, or course, who are properly loathsome). It is mostly concerned with politics, but I'm not very interested in politics and I loved it anyway. I read it for the first time four years ago, when I was 14, and I just reread the whole series for the third time in practically one sitting while I had a migraine. I usually read light and fluffy fantasy books, but I was craving a book with more meat and this was just the thing. It is thoroughly enjoyable, and it also makes you think. This is a must-read!!!

My all-time favorite series now available for my Nook! YES!!
I have owned the paperbacks for years and re-read them periodically, so they are showing both their age and a lot of wear. Since the book was out-of-print I didn't think it would become available as an e-book. Can't wait to start reading it again.

This book is now out of print, so I'm happy to have gotten a copy many years ago.
It's on my periodic re-read list, which makes it a must-have for my nook. Carrying a month's supply of books on our anual Hawaii trip was a drag. It's worth it to repurchase my favorite books for my nook.
Besides, I believe in supporting good authors so they'll be encoraged to write more books of this nature. MK Wren writes mostly mysteries, which are good in their own right. But I would like to see more sci-fi from her. Hint. Hint.
