## Once again, one of the Red Stone Security books is a slight disappointment. Bummer. A few of them were fabulous. But lately they've just been "OK". They are rushed (120 pages) for sure. The suspense was non-existent in this one. Athena was gone but found within minutes which ruined the suspense completely. In addition to that, this couple didn't have much chemistry and that's an absolute must for me. I wish Athena would've been a little firmer in resisting Quinn after he dumped her so coldly, but I guess with only a little over 100 pages there wasn't much time for playing hard to get.

An utterly captivating romantic thriller! Looking at Athena now, he couldn't believe he'd been dumb enough to walk away from her. When he'd realized how innocent she was it had freaked him out, to put it mildly. Had made him feel guilty for the dirty things he'd said to her, wanted to do to her. With her --- SWORN TO PROTECT by Katie Reus is another heart-pounding installment in Katie's fantastic Red Stone Security series. Even though it is the eleventh book in that series, it, as with all the books in this series, can be fully enjoyed as a standalone. I can't say enough good things about this series. Every book has featured a sizzling, passionate romance and intense, fast-paced action. This is the story of alpha Quinn Brody and innocent Athena Manikas. You will need to strap yourself in for a fast and furious ride. Quinn did the right thing years ago when he helped his boss' wife walk away from their abusive relationship. The boss ended up going to prison. Now the ex-boss is an ex-con and he wants Quinn to pay. He has Quinn and anyone that Quinn cares about in his sights. Quinn and Athena dated two months ago, but Quinn had walked away when things started getting too serious. You see, Athena is inexperienced and Quinn freaked. Quinn hasn't been able to forget her. He knows he made a big mistake when he walked away and he wants her back. But, his ex-boss, the con, has seen them together and Athena is his new target. Can Quinn keep her safe and is there a second chance in the cards for Quinn and Athena? This story plays out in two locales: Miami and Las Vegas. In Vegas, it was a treat to catch up with Iris Tarango, the heroine from BREAKING HER RULES, (Red Stone Security #6). Quinn had worked with her before; Iris is now the head of security at the Serafina there. Quinn and Athena are both realistic characters who are easy to like. Quinn is your typical alpha male, fiercely protective and sexy as hell. Even though he'd been an a** when he walked away from Athena, I was pulling for him when he realized his mistake and pulled all the stops to get her back. Athena might have been a virgin, but she knew what she wanted and that was Quinn. While she didn't want to be hurt again, she was spirited and strong. The eleventh book in the Red Stone Security series centers around former Miami police officer Quinn Brody and Athena Manikas—Belle's cousin. When Athena takes a job as an event coordinator at Red Stone Security, she's shocked to discover that Quinn, the too-sexy-man she'd dated and had been dumped by two months earlier upon learning she was still a virgin, works for the same firm. Quinn hasn't been able to forget Athena and realizing he'd made a big mistake, wants a second chance, but she's not interested in being rejected a second time. Relegated to the "just friends" and "co-workers" categories, Quinn's determined to bide his time and earn her trust. But when an ex-con he helped put away is released from prison, hellbent on using Athena to make him pay, professional quickly becomes personal...and Quinn will do whatever it takes to protect her. Packed full of danger, suspense and red-hot romance, Sworn to Protect is another fast, enjoyable read in the Red Stone Security series. Although I detest the whole "virgin" theme in contemporary romance, Athena was a smart, strong, likable heroine whose v-status—at her age—actually made sense. As with all of the books in the series, the ending was a bit abrupt. The danger and suspense were resolved quite quickly, but the story was solid and, overall, there are more things to like than dislike about the series. Such as the wonderful camaraderie between the men and women of Red Stone Security, which shines through in each and every book. I look forward to reading more by Katie Reus!

Quinn messed up with Athena when he was dating her a few months ago. He walked away from her and now realizes he made a huge mistake. He's out to protect her against someone that is trying to hurt her to get to him. The story line was good, funny and hot at times. It kept me interested until the end. A good read.

Book 11 in the Red Stone Security Series is just as amazing as the previous 10 books. Right from the beginning I was hooked. Quinn and Athena had dated a few times, and as things started getting deeper, she tells him she is a virgin, and he bolts. Several months later, Athena starts a her new job at Red Stone and come face to face with Quinn. She still has feelings for him, hasn't been able to get him off her mind, so this job situation is going to be tricky. Athena decides to stand firm, she wont let Quinn hurt her again. Quinn, realized he made a big mistake when he ran, but it was all he could do when he realized where things were headed. Now, working together, he knows he wont let her get away, he just needs to convince her too. Together in a dangerous situation, there is no running from the chemistry, the heat, the feelings between them. Is Athena able to let him back in, and if she does, will he just run away again when things get too deep for him. I loved every second of following these 2 through the ups and downs, and watching where they ended up. *I received this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review*

A lustful second chance… This is the eleventh book in the Red Stone Security series that can be read as a stand-alone. Two months have passed since Quinn Brody stopped dating Athena Manikas and he’s regretted walking away from her. Learning that she was still a virgin threw him but that wasn’t the only reason he ended things. He never expected to run into her at a weekend Red Stone Security party where he learns she’s the firm’s newest employee. His attraction to her hasn’t waned, their chemistry intense and he wants another chance but she was hurt by his actions and he’ll have to convince her. Landing a marketing position at Red Stone Security brought Athena back home to Florida and she’s been looking forward to the job and being around family. She’s stunned when she sees Quinn and learns that he works at Red Stone, something that she'd never known. She still feels the magnetism between them but he’s had his chance, to protect herself friendship is the best she can do and it won’t be easy. Being around Quinn is not only dangerous to Athena’s emotions but to her physical well-being. Years ago Quinn had sent a fellow police officer to prison for abusing his wife. Out on parole the man seeks vengeance and what better way to make Quinn suffer than going after the woman he cares about which he believes to be Athena after seeing them together and noting the chemistry between them. Scaring Athena once brought the villain confirmation and he sets his plans into action. Quinn will do anything to protect Athena now that he has her in his life again. This was a cute sexy romance that moved rapidly. The instant lust between Quinn and Athena escalated to love before they really got to know each other, they had only dated six times before Quinn walked away, their lust the first time never consummated. This reader needed to feel more connection between them. Though I enjoyed the story I needed more emotional depth. ARC provided by the author. 3.5 stars

You got to love the men of Red Stone Security. So stubborn and possessive. Quinn is no different. He will do what ever it takes to prove to Athena that he will not walk away. He will take one step at a time. But when a threat is exposed and Athena is the target, Quinn will not back down. There will be no sideline work for him. Athena has her doubts about Quinn. He had walked away once. I am loving this series. I cannot wait to get more. Katie Reus has a way with words and can keep you turning the pages

J: This one was totally predictable almost from the first chapter. Not much of a plot here.

When anyone asks me to recommend to them a romantic suspense series, I always include Red Stone Security. Katie Reus consistently provides drama, suspense, and a lot of hot smexy moments. Each book can also be read as a stand alone. One of the best parts of this book is Athena. I like that Athena has worked hard to get to where she is in both her work and personal life. As a chubby teenager, her self-esteem to a hit, but she battled her way to the strong, confidence woman she is today. Experience gives her confidence in her instincts. Quinn is one of the good guys. With a law enforcement experience, he has had to make some tough choices including saving the spouse of his supervisor from domestic violence. Putting his career on the line, he takes steps to do the right thing. I don't mind saying I did get a little thrill witnessing Quinn groveling a little to win Athena back. After having dumped her because the relationship was getting too hot too fast, he changes his mind after she reappears in his life. Being the better woman, she slowly but surely allows him back in her life. The suspense part is developed well enough for us to get to the know the villain. I only wish I had a better sense of what drive his dysfunction. . I would've appreciated a little more background on the bad guy. I think there could be a lot more to explore about this guy. IN A NUTSHELL: Good guys. Bad guys. And lots of suspense and sexual tension. Yup, right up a Red Stone Security alley.

A great contemporary romantic suspense,Quinn and Athena's relationship seems to be going great until she tells Quinn she is a virgin. When they meet again Athena doesn't know she just starting working at the same company as Quinn. This is a story of a second chance but will they risk it.

Quinn Brody is an honorable man. He will protect all women especially one he loves. I fell in love with him. He's a strong powerful Alpha, but when he's faced with love and commitment he doesn't know how to deal with it. Athena is a challenge and his equal. This feisty woman can stand on her own two feet. I loved the sparks that flew whenever they were together. Their interaction and chemistry made for a compelling romance. This book is fast-paced and filled with danger. I loved the setting and the sharp, humorous dialogue. I enjoyed catching up with other members of Red Stone. I liked these characters from previous stories. I enjoy Katie Reus. She's an excellent author who combines danger and passion in a story that pulls you right in.

Sworn to protect is the eleventh book in the Red Stone Security series and tells the story of Quinn, a RSS Agent and Athena, Belle’s cousin. When Athena comes to work for RSS she never expects to see the only man who she ever desired but who rejected her. Quinn has long regretted breaking up with Athena but when he finds out that they will soon be working together, he knows that he will have to grab the opportunity fate offers. Only Athena knows better than to make the same mistake twice. So when Quinn is tasked with escorting Athena to Las Vegas, old passions awake while old enemies resurface. Sworn to protect was so different from the other books in the series. Reading Quinn and Athena’s story was so refreshing. Athena was really young but she was really focused on her future and she was confident in the choices she made and what she wanted. Quinn was very different from her. He was determined to fix his mistake, loyal, protective and weak when it came towards his feelings for Athena. There was a strong connection between them that you just couldn’t ignore. What I really really loved was seeing characters from the previous books in the series and especially: Harrison, Belle and Grant, Iris, Travis, Ivan and Lizzy. I had missed them all so much. I really want to see more of Harrison and Mara. We don’t get to see them very often and since they are my favorite couple I want to read more of them (maybe a small novella?). Katie Reus is a genius and once again she has delivered something amazing. Sworn to protect was one incredible read with one hell of a plot. Nothing was missing. It has action, suspense, romance, a hot alpha hero and a heroine willing to do anything to get her HEA. Highly recommended! *Copy provided in exchange for an honest review*

Quinn and Athena made a wonderful addition to the Redstone family! The drama from Quinn's previous position was artfully weaved into an engrossing storyline leaving this reader quite satisfied with this latest entry.

I swear these books just keep better and better! I generally prefer to read PNR but Katie Reus is quickly converting me over to the romantic suspense genre with her Red Stone Security series! Quinn and Athena had been dating before he broke it off after things started getting intense between them. Basically he did the typical macho bachelor thing and panicked. He knew that Athena could be the "one" and he used her virginity as an excuse to bail. When he runs into her at a work get together he realizes how stupid he was and is determined to get her back no matter what. Athena is a bit wary of trusting Quinn (understandably) again but she can't deny the sizzling attraction between them. When an old enemy of Quinn's targets Athena he will do everything in his power to keep her safe. I loved Quinn! Yes, he was stupid at running from her in the beginning but once he admitted to himself that she was the one he pulled out all the stops to get her back. He was sweet, sexy, possessive, protective and jealous as all get out when he thinks another man may steal Athena from him. Athena was funny, spunky and strong willed. She was the perfect compliment to Quinn and the chemistry between the two was smoking hot. The storyline has plenty of action and suspense with just the right amount of sexiness. I can't wait to see what comes next in the series! *I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The newest addition to the Red Stone Security series, Sworn To Protect is Quinn and Athena's story. After dating for a short period of time, Quinn calls it quits, but doesn't realize that getting over Athena isn't as easy as he thought. Still feeling the sting of his rejection, Athena isn't ready to just fall back into Quinn's arms so quickly. A threat from Quinn's past however, pushes these two together and Quinn is not going to let her go so easily this time. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Red Stone has developed into such a family and it's great to see old characters and new come together. The attraction between Quinn and Athena is off the charts and the honesty between the two is so refreshing. A really good read. ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Review: Are we sure this was 200 pages? It went so fast, I swear it seems I just started reading it and it was over. It was a very good story, just what we come to expect from this series, sizzling romance and a action-packed story. Quinn was kind of an a** when he walked away from Athena before. I get he was scared, but at least he had the common sense to try and get her back. If I was Athena, I would have made him work a little harder...lol Quinn really is a stand-up guy, the whole action/suspense is because he did the right thing years ago and helped out a woman in a abusive relationship. Now, that person is out of jail and wanting to get back at Quinn and unfortunately Athena gets caught in the cross-fire. But, Athena is a strong and smart girl, who uses those assets when dealing with Quinn and trouble. Both Quinn and Athena were easy characters to like and care about what was going to happen to them. Part of the story is set in Vegas, so we get a cross-over with some of the Serfina series gang. That was a nice surprise. This the 11th in the series but it is easily stand-alone. Another, great suspenseful romance! 4Stars *Received a copy of the book from the Author in exchange for a fair and honest review*

Another great addition to the series. I love this series. Strong smart women and alpha males. Each book stands alone but it always great to revisit some of the characters from the other books.

I love coming back to this world. It’s like reading a new chapter of the old book every time I re-enter the Red Stone Security series (in fact I feel this way every time I read any of Katie Reus’ series). In this instance it was Athena’s sweet yet leveled head that made me like it. She fell for Quinn but when he left her because he didn’t want to think about committing to a virgin, she decided to just get on with her life, regardless of how much her ego, pride, and heart were hurt in the process. On the other hand, although Quinn made sound like a jerk, he was just a man being a man with commitment issues but then throughout the story he shows Athena the he could be a more responsible mature man. Unfortunately, a threat from Quinn’s past shows up and overshadows their happiness. Reus’ writing flows from page to page and before I knew it (and as much as I didn’t want it to) the book was over. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the new full novel in the series is out because I will definitely continue reading the series. *** I received an advanced copy of this story in exchange for an honest review ***

4 - "Be careful, Devil Dog." Stars! The eleventh book in the Red Stone Security series see’s us getting Quinn Brody’s story. Although part of the series as a whole you can absolutely read these books as standalones. Prior to this I had only read book six, and although you get the vibe that all of the characters you come across have their own stories, nothing is confusing, and as a reader you don’t feel like you are missing important information or anything. This was a quick, satisfying read, Quinn and Athena’s initial meeting being two months prior to the beginning of this story, 6 dates and all is looking good between them until Athena drops the bombshell she’s still carrying her V-Card, Quinn makes like Roadrunner, and she hasn’t seen or heard from him since. Not that that has stopped either of them thinking non-stop about the other. An unexpected meeting at a work party for her new job, provides more than a little surprise when it turns out that Quinn also works for Red Stone Security. His past and their potential future then cross paths whilst on a job together in Las Vegas, and it is a race against time for Quinn to save the day and the damsel. I really enjoyed this instalment in the Red Stone Security series, quick and sexy, well written and a likeable couple to top it all off. The plot wasn’t the most in-depth I have read from Katie, but she knows what works when it comes to her romantic suspense couples and has delivered it again with Sworn to Protect. ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and it was an absolute pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, this does not affect my opinion of this book or the content of my review. A lot of times in shorter stories like this, it is tough to feel like you really know the characters, but this one starts in the middle of an intense scene that really lets us understand who Quinn is as a person. And it truly sets the stage for how his mind works and for future events and conflict. After the prologue, we’re back in the present and it turns out Quinn is apparently finally ready to quit being an idiot. This is a second chance trope which is kind of my catnip, and it doesn’t commit the cardinal sin in my eyes of the manwhore because he was an idiot who ruined things trope. I also really enjoyed the characters, Quinn as I said is ready to quit being so stupid (always a good quality in an alpha hero), and Athena isn’t TSTL. In fact she’s smart and capable. The action is faced paced, the suspense is handled well, the smexy times are definitely smexy (though the condomless fetish is a nitpick for me) and the romance was sweet. This sort of thing is my kind of catnip. Quick short reads that hit all the high notes, and all my good buttons with an extended “family” of characters we can keep checking back in with, with no need to do more world building or lifestyle setup. You could read this as a stand alone because the main protagonists story isn’t integral to the series as a whole, but if you are a fan of Lisa Marie Rice (or you used to be) or Cynthia Eden’s suspense, then you’ll want to check this series out at the beginning, because Katie Reus is reliable with a capital “R” when it comes to this sort of crack-tastic read.
