    A reviewer

As a Prince fan, nothing will approach the original Purple Rain soundtrack. Having said that, this is a very worthy effort. The more I listen, the more I like it. What it lacks in Prince's maniacal energy, it makes up for with the complexity of sounds. Some of the string arrangements are remarkable (at least to me - but I am not a classical music fan at). The only two complaints I have are a" it needed to be a bigger symphony "more violins, more trumpets, etc.", and b" the musicians sometimes struggle to make their instruments "sing" the song, but then again, that may be a lot easier said than done. I have heard a Jazz tribute to Prince, and this is 10 times better than that. I would love to see a follow up effort doing some of his more symphony-ready songs "Scandalous, Adore, Pink Cashmere"
