Everyone who values his or her health will want to read the book and then individualize the program to suit his or her needs-the authors have made this easier than ever to do."-Richard A. Kunin, M.D., author of Mega-Nutrition

What is Syndrome X? It's a resistance to insulin-the hormone needed to burn food for energy-combined with high cholesterol or triglycerides, high blood pressure, or too much body fat. Syndrome X ages you prematurely and significantly increases your risk of heart disease, hypertension, obesity, eye disease, nervous system disorders, diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancer, and other age-related diseases.

Syndrome X is the first book to tell you how to fight the epidemic disorder that is derailing the health of nearly a third of North Americans. It outlines a complete three-step program-including easy-to-follow diets, light physical activity, and readily available vitamins and nutritional supplements-that will safeguard you against developing Syndrome X or reverse it if you already have it.

What Planet do You Come From??

Two carbs per day would not be adequate for an ant to live on. Carbs are FUEL which the body requires for basic functions such as BREATHING. Ketosis results in dehydration and often electrolyte imbalences. Also lean muscle tissue is lost during the ketosis or starvation state caused by lack of carbs. Please don't attempt to write about a subject you obviously know nothing about. People are confused enough about what to eat thanks to NONSENSE books like yours!!!!!!!!!

    Onsulin Resistance

I am a 25 year diabetic, with complications. Two years ago my daughter died unexpectedly and I was not able to get my diabetes under control. The doctors were insisting I was to go on insulin. In one last attempt to stay off insulin, I searched for another solution. I found this book and it helped me get my diabetes under total control. I was already taking the viamins recommended by the authors and they had helped me in the past, but I had never heard of Alpha Lipoic Acid until they mentioned it in this book. After doing some research to see if it was safe I tried it. Within 24 hours I saw some results. One month later I went to the doctor, an Internal Medicine specialist. He was amazed with my glucoses, but said lets see how your next tests come out 'after the Christmas holidays'. In January 2007, I went for my three month A1C, the doctor was extatic. My previous A1C was 8.6 'out of control' now it was 6.1 'total control'. My tryglicerides which had also been exremely high, were also fabulous. I have never had such great glucoses since being diagnosed with diabetes. Thank you.

THIS BOOK IS MY LIFESTYLE BIBLE!

I have insulin resistance and PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, brought on by insulin resistance) and this book has changed my life! I don't like the commercialized, quick fix, drastic diets that deprive you of nutrients or make big promises. This book is much better than those! It not only focuses on diet, but also excercise, supplements, and natural medicine for those interested. A MUST READ for insulin resistant individuals!!!
