I always, and i mean always, refer to this volume and it's companion volume when wrestling with Christian Bible doctrine. Garrett's style is exhaustive without being cumbersome. I would say it has a 12th grade reading level and reads like a text book. Complex issues are discussed with great clarity and brevity. The historical perspective is the best i've seen in print, and I use Garretts as a great starting point when researching the historical aspect of any Christian doctrine. I rate these volumes with 5 stars because I sincerely believe them to be the best on the market. I bought my first volume on a lark, and was surprised by how good it was and immediately purchased the second volume. Definitely underated. A must for every serious theologian's library. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
