Totally refreshing to read about REAL family life. Many of us have experienced similar chapters in our lives, but Katrina truly brings it to a new level of pathos and humor. In reading this book one feels as if they are sitting around the table and being an active participant in the loving, confusing and hectic life of this wonderful family. A must read if you want to know what really going on next door.

Like the intricate patterns of the small scraps of fabric used to make a quilt or the small glass or tile pieces of a mosaic our lives are made of small little pieces. Each of those pieces are interesting and lovely to look at but when placed together in a careful way they become something much more. Table for Six does this with life's stories. Katrina Anne Willis has masterfully placed the small pieces of story from her life as a mother, a wife, a writer, and a woman and laid them out in a beautiful pattern to create something more than just those small tales. She created a life. It is exactly how life is. Each of us know that life is not some grand story arc. It is a series of disjoint but connected interactions and reflections that some how lead to a full and rich human experience. When you read Table for Six you will not only see how Katrina's life and the life of her family unfolds you will feel your own unfold. It will bring you a deeper appreciation of the way the small interactions of life shape us and make us who we are each day. You will laugh at stories you would be too embarrassed to tell and cry at stories too deep to comprehend. But ultimately, you will come to appreciate the patchwork quilt that each of us sew each day. This is a book that you will love.
