The book, Tai Chi For Fun! shows interested readers the art of tai chi, a martial art that originated in China centuries ago. The purpose of tai chi is to teach inner peace and strength through a series of postures or poses that pupils create in fluent movements, and some forms like the one discussed in this book may simply be a unique way to exercise. The reader learns how to take deep breaths and loosen up their bodies for the more advanced movements, such as grasp the sparrow's tail, golden cockerel stands on one leg, and brush knees and twist steps. They look simple to do, but do not be surprised if your muscles feel stretched and sore. The book also addresses the more competitive side of tai chi or wushu, which means "martial arts" in China. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will introduce the first Wushu Tournament and hopes that it will create such a sensation that it will remain as part of the Olympic Games.
