Overview

Accept no substitute…for love.

The Lady Doth Protest Too Much

Jessica Martin is determined to earn a permanent teaching position at Summit High School. That means hard work, dedication, and even volunteering extra time to direct the school’s Shakespeare play. Which leaves no room for romance—especially with a co-worker. She didn’t factor in the school’s sexy security officer and the delicious fantasies he inspires.

Too Much Of A Good Thing

Former cop Tom Cameron likes his job. Or he did, until the new substitute busted his orderly life right open. Now, he can’t seem to avoid her—deserted hallways, empty theaters, classrooms after dark—but he’s got too many skeletons in his closet to risk his heart again. Asking her out to distract her from the play’s, well, drama is a friendly gesture. Nothing more.

The Course Of True Love Never Did Run Smooth

Their chemistry could melt down the science lab, and before long they’re burning up the sheets off-campus. And uncovering raw emotions—a stark reminder that love isn’t in their curricula. When a troubled student goes over the edge, though, the need to stop a tragedy brings them right back where they started—face to face with fate.

This book contains sexy encounters in classrooms, inappropriate use of school facilities, backstage shenanigans, and illicit activities on a ferryboat.

Meet the Author

From food to fiction, Kate likes things spicy. She writes sexy contemporary romance (with a time travel thrown in the mix for fun), and has books available in both e-format and print. When she isn't writing about strong, sexy men and women finding their happily-ever-afters, she spends her time playing with the kids and hanging with her hero husband. (How's that for alliteration?) Her Samhain contemporary anthology, Lessons Learned, won Best Small Press Romance 2009 from RT Magazine. Take a Chance On Me is Kate's tenth published title.

    Couldn't Put It Down

This story captured my attention from the very beginning. The attraction between Jessica and Tom is there from almost the first page and Ms. Davies keeps it amped up. Boy, does she keep it amped up. :) I could not put this story down and read it in three days. I was drawn to the conflict between these two. This story felt real and I highly recommend it. Take a chance on this book. You won't be disappointed.

If you like romance, this is the book for you!

I rarely have time to read. In fact, I have about 6 or 7 books on my Nook that I've started and are in varying stages of being read. A friend recommended "Take a Chance on Me", so I downloaded it to my Nook. I started reading it when I went to pick up my daughter from school one day, and I couldn't put it down! I was reading in the car waiting, at stop lights, when I took them to karate, while I was cooking dinner - I finished it in mere hours! I am normally a fast reader, it's true, but I was completely immersed in the storyline and the characters.

I am a complete romantic at heart, it's true, but I don't often read romance novels. Well, like I said, I don't have the chance to read. But what was so great about this book was that the characters are so real. Jessica reminds me of a friend of mine, a spunky elementary school teacher who was single for much too long. And Tom reminds me of a family friend, also in law enforcement, who seems hard and cold on the outside, but is really a marshmallow on the inside.

The story is great - the sparks are flying between these two from the very beginning. I love how they try to avoid each other, only to be drawn back together like magnets. They let their heads try and dictate their relationship, and finally end up relenting to letting their hearts rule their actions.

I really enjoyed it - and you will too!
