All Music Guide - Johnny Loftus
Faith Hill's debut established the willowy singer as the lady-in-waiting to Reba McEntire's throne. Like McEntire, Hill's voice could crackle just as well as it sparkled, and Take Me as I Am allowed her to do both. By focusing Hill's vocal and supporting her with unobtrusive instrumentation, producers Burr and Scott Hendricks helped make Take Me as I Am that much more effective, and ensured that no one would forget about Hill anytime soon.

    Great debut

My all-time favorite song is Wild One. The rest of the songs on here are great. She has a powerful voice and she knows how to use it. I would recommend this for any country fan.

    Wonderful Debut!

I absolutely love this CD. My faves are ''Piece of My Heart,'' ''Wild One,'' and ''I Would Be Stronger Than That.'' I agree with the other review, she really does emit a ''Reba-like'' style without ever copying her--Faith's her own person!
