Overview

Grant
Manwhore. Adrenaline junkie. Lead singer of ContraBand. What you see is what you get. I make no apologies for my actions, and by now no one expects any from me. I live my life the way I want and as long as it pushes the demons back, then I'm solid. I've never needed a chick for more than a good lay. Why would I need just one when I can have a different one every night?

Until she walks into my world.

Aribel
Mouthy. Perfectionist. Princeton student. Chemistry major. Yes, that pretty much describes me. Oh, and virgin. But I'm only nineteen, and have more important things to concern myself with. What really matters is finishing my degree and getting a good job. I've worked hard for what I want, and do what's expected of me. I don't need anyone to get in my way.

Until he opens up my world.

But if I give you my world, whatever you do...don't take me for granted.

4.5 Rockin’ Stars   I really enjoyed this book.  It was a quick read with witty banter, which made me smile, rock bands (which I have a thing for), a little bit of angst and drama to keep you reading, and just enough steam to spice things up!  Loved the characters and can’t wait to see more of them in future books. Grant – Hot lead singer of ContraBand – his history….you guessed it, a Manwhore (it does say it in the blurb, so we are not surprised by this), but don’t we expect our rockers to have that quality somewhat?  Then in walks Aribel, the perfect student, lives life safely, and my favorite, a sassy mouth & eat sh*t attitude – which I loved (and yes, she is a virgin, but she is only 19 … so hello – this could be totally realistic people). Anyway, you definitely get the chemistry between these two polar opposites and K.A. Linde has a way of making you fall for both of them and cheer them on. Again, the blurb also tells you that Grant has demons – which you will find out about, and how he copes with them.  Is Grant more than just a playboy rocker? I like to think so…….. Is Aribel just what he needs to make him forget?  Will Aribel stop denying the pull she has to him and learn to live a little?  Pick up this book and find out! One thing I want to add on a personal note because I know we see this a lot in our books and many complain about it, probably because they don’t believe it, BUT…. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the troubled bad-boy manwhore changing when they find the one girl worth changing for…. I do not believe it is something that only happens in our books…. I think it is something I have seen again and again in life experiences.  People can change… if they really want to.  Ok, rant over. I did not realize when I started this book that it is the first of a series, however, while the ending left me wanting more, it was not necessarily a cliff-hanger.  So, no worries all!  I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

He is not your typical rocker. He does have a mind of his own and a past that is deadly. His future? Undetermined until he met Aribel. Grant is a man whore and proud of it. He has no time or inclination to pursue a girl beyond a one-night-stand. Aribel on the other hand is a straight A student. Calculus, Organic Chemistry.... they are no challenge to her. She is smart, beautiful, still a virgin and proud of it. She has yet to meet a man that entices her enough until she met Grant. Talk about opposites. In the unique style the identifies K.A. Linde's books, she has given us here a contemporary romance that is cohesive, well written, and full of mystery and passion. I absolutely fell in love with these characters. Grant and Aribel end up growing up and connecting in a way that is truly heartfelt. This is only Book #1 in this series. I will be on the lookout for book #2. This story keeps getting more and more interesting!

Loved Ari as a lead character. She wasn't a push over and was smart... Refreshing to see a female in a romance novel stand on her own two feet. Highly recommend reading this book, relatable character that pull you into the story.

This your cocky rocker guy, Grant and classic good girl, Aribel. Grant can have pretty much anything he wants. Aribel is so focused on school and her goals she doesn't let relationships get in her way. Things change drastically when they meet. It starts off extremely funny wwith Grant 's so sure of himself attitude and Aribel's witty remarks. They both make fools out of themselves trying to figure out there relationship but find themselves drawn toward one another. Grant lets her in then there are crazy misunderstandings. All of their friends are a great addition to the book and all are very well written. This book is filled full of craziness, misunderstandings, love, wit, and emotions. Amazing read! Can't wait for round two!

What to say about Grant - well he is hot, cocky talented and dedicated to ContraBand. He is loyal to his band mates because he considers them family. Grant McDermott is used to getting any girl he wants when ever he wants that is until he meets Aribel Graham. She wants no part of him and as the saying goes let the chase begin! Aribel is smart, sassy and would rather do homework than party with her girlfriends. I love all of K. A. Linde's books and this one joins the ranks with her others. I can not wait to read book two to see what happens next with ContraBand, Grant and his band mates and of course with Aribel! Once again you told an amazing story and did not disappoint!

K.A. Linde is an outstanding author. Take Me For Granted is a fast paced, can't put down, edge of your seat type of book! The characters are amazing and they draw you in. I sure hope there is a lot more books with these fantastic characters. I can see them all getting their own book, especially Vin and his love triangle. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!!!!!

(3.5 stars) Grant is a self-proclaimed man whore who had me from his very first line. Aribel is the proverbial good girl solely focused on maintaining her 4.0 average. Aribel’s friends try to get her to relax and have a good time and convince her to come see a local band named Contraband. Aribel and Grant’s first meeting is memorable to say the least and immediately made me a fan of hers. None of her friends can believe she turns Grant down every chance she gets. Eventually they start spending time together and she learns he is hiding a painful memory from his past. Aribel gets to see a side of him that most don’t. I really liked how Grant’s personality didn’t change no matter what stage their relationship is in. The ending definitely leaves you wanting more and I am more than looking forward to their next book. - “I would walk away shattered, destroyed, and empty, knowing I’d given him a piece of myself that I’d never known I could give. In turn, I’d let him f*n own me in every way that I ever found important. My body was just a vessel, but my mind, my soul… he’d taken over those, and frankly, I didn’t want them back.

Good book till the end. Like really your just going to end it in the middle of their conversation? Ugh.

I really didn't mind Ari. I loved that she wasn't a human doormat. What ruined this story for me was the hero. He scr*ws anything that walks and brags about it. I don't care how hot he is, just imagining sharing him with that many women? Gross. Forget about it.

I feel like this book was really... honest. No relationship is perfect. We all have our demons and insecurities no matter how different our backgrounds may be. We all find our vices to deal with the pain... just to forget for a little while whether that be in music, alcohol, or homework. Grant and Aribel were so different yet so in sync and were lit by an inexhaustable passion and love that we all long for. I think everyone can see a bit of themselves in this book that shows the raw pain we all feel, but also shows the comfort we can all find in those that love us. This book took me on a rollarcoaster of emotions, and I'd read it time and time again. I can't for a sequel-- and mind you, there better be a sequel. 5/5 stars all the way.

Grant and Aribel couldn’t come from more different worlds. Drugs, alcohol, women and music keep Grant from feeling and that’s how he prefers it. Aribel is control. She comes from a buttoned-up family in a world of money, ambition and perfection. The last thing she sees coming is the hurricane that is Grant.  Grant and Ari were both characters I could get behind. I immediately felt connected to Ari. Her innocence and sheltered view of life was incredibly endearing. Ari is smart, driven, polite, and beautiful but there is a fire inside her that only Grant can bring out. Seeing the world through her eyes had me feeling like I was experiencing everything for the first time with her. I loved seeing her character grow confident and strong over the course of the story. Grant was the wild child. He only cared about one thing. His music. His exuberance and the unapologetic way he lived his life was entertaining and fun. Grant was the burst of color that this story needed to make me feel the extreme emotions, whether that meant complete devastation or incredible joy.  The storyline was great and had me captivated from start to finish. Sure, there are a lot of themes that seem to be pretty common in rockstar novels, but the manner in which this story was told set it apart from the others in my mind. Grant and Ari’s story was told in dual POV (which I love). The emotions ran high in both viewpoints. Being able to see what both of them were thinking and feeling about the same situation created a world that felt raw and real and complete.  This story gave me emotional whiplash, in the best way possible. I was so elated at their moments of happiness that I actually had that unsettling feeling in my stomach where I was just waiting for the bottom to drop out. When it did my heart ached for them. The ending took me a little by surprise. It wasn’t a cliffhanger (thank goodness!!) but it definitely left us open to the possibility of another book in the future.  I’m hopeful that we will be seeing more of Grant and Ari down the road along with the rest of their crazy crew. This was an awesome read and I enjoyed every second of Take Me For Granted and the vibrant characters we were introduced to.
