Overview

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint…

One decadent dare, one steamy night…

It's been a year since Jasmine Stewart dumped her cheating ex, so when her best friend dares her to have a one-night stand during a business trip to Miami, Jasmine is all in. But just as she hits her cheesy-come-ons limit, a wickedly hot former soldier comes to her rescue.

Security specialist Ethan Worth's instincts tell him the gorgeous woman at the bar is trouble. After a sexy dance and even sexier kiss, he knows she is. But when their scintillating night leads to more, the possibility of another long distance relationship sends Jasmine running for the door.

Until the unthinkable happens. Jasmine's company assigns her to Bode-Wynn, the military security firm where Ethan works. Forced back together, the undeniable heat between them flares to life. But sex is all it can ever be, because taking it further goes against everything Jasmine wants…and everything Ethan fears.

Meet the Author

Nina Crespo lives in Florida where she indulges in her favorite passions -- the beach, kick boxing, a good glass of wine, date night with her own real-life hero and dancing.

Her lifelong addiction to romance began in her teens while on a "borrowing spree" in her older sister's bedroom where she discovered her first romance novel and became lost in the world of happily ever after.

Curiosity about people and places, including what's beyond the stars, fuels her writer's imagination. This wellspring of inspiration allows Nina to create sensual contemporary and paranormal stories, which she hopes will feed your own addiction for true love and romance.

    Loved this

    ## Stellar. That's just one word to describe this book. I had so much fun reading this. Yes, it's a tad short with approx. 120 pages, but it didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel cheated. The characters were well fleshed out and frankly, I adored both hero and heroine. Their chemistry came across with each encounter. I loved that the author let these two have so much fun together. The hero Ethan was undeniably hot. Oh man, I just need a minute to pick my tongue up off the floor. And the heroine was so playful which is one of my favorite traits in a heroine. I wish the ending would have played out a little longer but the rest was so good, I still rated this 5 stars. I will most definitely be reading this again and again.

It was just "ok". Not long enough to be anything else. Never been a big fan of novellas. Makes it feel like the idea started and then the author didn't know where to take it so cut it short and sold it for cheap to get paid for the thought.

    Take me if you dare

I did not care for the ending. So up in the air. (We'll try and see if we work out.) When does HEA not have the characters not declaring straight out.
Other than that the characters were interseting and the story moved at a good pace.
    Good first effort.

    Rating: 4 1/2 stars

I received a copy of this book from the Entangled Publishing and the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of story that this author packed into a short amount of pages. And she didn’t go about trying to rush any of her scenes to try and compensate for that. The reader will get so involved in this story that you almost want to talk some sense into Jasmine. Some women don’t want to get hurt but Nina shows that some guys are worth taking the risk. I loved the ending and so will you. It gives you hope that no matter what, love does conquer all. And you’re also left looking forward to reading more of her work.

Oh, I really liked this one! New author, new series, interesting

Oh, I really liked this one! New author, new series, interesting secondary characters throughout--so much to look forward to.

Take Me if You Dare is a relatively quick page turner with a nice blend of hot chemistry, steamy scenes, and believable introspection leading to a HEA--all in well under 200 pages. Perfect reading for a lazy summer weekend.

I absolutely LOVED Etahn's character. He was a fantastic hero. His reasons for not wanting to get into a relationship no doubt played into that love--they definitely hit a bit close to home. I liked how Nina Crespo got him to see through his issues to finally take a chance on love, though. Nicely done.

Jasmine was a little tougher to sympathize with--yes, her betrayal was real, but it was a year ago...but that guy was a total tool and hello, Ethan was nothing like Greg. I did like that she ended up being the one to make the grand guesture, though--because them not being together up to that point was totally all on her.

Altogether this was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series--there are so many characters (Tab, Mitch, Jax; heck, even Larson and the twins have possibilities) that were introduced here that I'd love to see more of.

What would make you accept a dare for a one-night stand? -a chea

What would make you accept a dare for a one-night stand?
    -a cheating ex?
    -a sense of loss?
-or a hot and sexy ex-soldier?

Whatever the reason, Jasmine is still struggling with her friend's crazy idea when the right kind of temptation steps in to change her mind. And her body impulses.

From the very start, I was captivated by the author's swift, witty and sexy narrative. She sets the mood perfectly for this couple in the making. They're still young but old enough to have had their bumps in the road. Jasmine is trying to gain back her sense of self, her freedom to feel, but what she went through with her cheating ex-fiancé weighs her down. Now, she's focusing on her career.

Ethan leads the classic life of a single-forever man. Risk is part of his job, after all. Something in his gut, though, desires a bit more of a connection. How they'll accomplish what they need but think cannot have is what makes this story so authentic, entertaining, and fulfilling.

Fate is playing tricks on them. After that "one night!, they accidentally have to spend two weeks rubbing shoulders at work. It was a lot of fun seeing Jasmine squirm with longing, but denying herself the chance at an emotional connection. On the other hand, Ethan was irritated at her behaviour but couldn't help himself and her pull on him.

One extremely funny scene involves flashy condoms. You don't want to miss that!

These characters have real-life issues like not wanting to be betrayed again or sparing a loved one the misery of losing a husband to war. I felt their doubt and fear overlaid with the very human need to overcome them. Definitely, there is a lot of pain, romance and heat in this story. I really enjoyed it, and I think this author feels her characters deeply. She's paying a homage to brave men and tough choices in love. Good job!

Take Me if You Dare is all about taking chances.

Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews
    by Kim

Take Me if You Dare is a really nice read. Jessica Stewart is a former program coordinator who has a serious aversion to long-distance relationships. It’s been a year since she dumped her ex-fiancé and had to start her life over again. Ethan Worth is former military turned security specialist, who doesn’t do relationships because he travels a lot for work and because his job has the possibly of being dangerous. As a child, he watched his grief stricken mother try to pick up the pieces after his military father died.

Jessica is on a business trip to Miami and it just so happens to be her birthday. Since they were eight-years-old, her and her best friend, Tabitha have been birthday daring each other. This year, Tabitha dared Jessica to have a one-night stand on her business trip. Jessica and Ethan meet at a bar when Ethan saves Jessica from the sixth guy trying to pick her up. The two hit it off and agree to dinner and whatever else happens. Avoiding the next morning walk of shame, Jessica leaves Ethan without telling him goodbye or giving him her contact information.

In a twist of fate, the two meet up again when Jessica is tapped to work with Ethan’s company. Who knew second chances could be so good. A one-night stand turns into more than these two bargained for. They are going to each have to overcome their fears to make this potential relationship work.

I found Take Me if You Dare to be different from other Brazen books I’ve read in the past. I didn’t find it to be as hot, but it’s not a closed door romance either. I loved and completely understood both characters and where they were coming from in their thought processes. Even when I wanted to dislike Jessica, I just couldn’t manage to do so. I’m so excited that this is the start to a series and I’m really looking forward to the next book.

A little Dare + a hot hero + lots of doubts = Take Me if You Dare

Jasmine and her best friend, Tab, make daes to each other for their birthdays, Jasmine's dare this year? Have a one night stand to get over her cheating ex.
Ethan wasn't looking for nothing more than a little fun before going back to work. It was supposed to be one night

But fate had other plans for both of them....

Nina Crespo did a wonderful job at keeping balance between steamy scenes and romance in this novella. Take Me if You Dare center around Jasmine and Ethan. Both scare of commiting to another person for different reasons but one night together leaves them wanting more and when fate decides to keep them together they can't stay away.

The feelings developed fast but in a real way. The characters were solid and she gives enogh back story to each of them to make you understand why they keep their distance.

To be honest, Ethan really makes me swoon. He is the perfect guy and putshimself out there more than once. What I really love was that the gesture at the end came from Jasmine!

The secondary characters were good as well, it had enough of them to help move the story forward.
I'd like to keep reading about them as well.

This novella opens to the classic bar scene... Beautiful woman is hit on by skeezy guy and is saved by hot man, who ends up being her perfect hook up. Jasmine is celebrating her birthday in a bar, she has been dared by her best friend to find a one night stand, to get over her broken engagement. Ethan is a security specialist, who rescues Jasmine from a slimeball. They hook up and she flees to the airport and learns all that karma has to teach her.

Ethan is a wonderful alpha male! I enjoyed watching his evolution from playboy to boyfriend. I was a little more frustrated with Jasmine, she continued to flee her feeling for Ethan. But they end up together is a humorous, sexy story.

    Good Book!

    Another hot read from Brazen!

A year ago, smart and beautiful Jasmine Stewart had it all. She was happily engaged, planning the wedding of her dreams and working in a job that she loved and excelled in. When she finally found out that her jerk of a fiance was cheating on her, she had already resigned her position in Dallas, because she was relocating to Virgina with her almost husband. Since she could not get her former job back, she took a lower level position in the same company in hopes that she would soon return to her climb up the corporate ladder. Her trust was shattered and to this day, she has played it safe when it comes to dating and relationships.

Ethan Worth is a former military man that is now a security specialist. He is talented, good-looking and the baggage he is carrying where love is concerned is understandable. In the event of his death, he does not want to leave a wife and family all alone, which is why short-term flings are his thing.

Jasmine and Ethan meet in a bar and hit if off immediately. So much so that they spend the night together experiencing the best sex of their lives. A single night of passion changes their lives forever because it was more than just good sex, it was the beginning of true love.

This book packs a lot of plot and heat in very few pages. The story flows effortlessly from beginning to end and the characters are engaging and fun. Ms. Crespo defines her characters very clearly and I felt like I was in the same room with them most of the time. Overall, a solid read.

I was gifted this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

    Review:

This sexy novella was a quick and satisfying read!

This story drew me in from the first and kept me reading until the end.  I think the characters were well-written and I got instantly attached to them and wanted them to get their HEA. Sexiness abounds in this book, those two sure have the right chemistry!  The pace was perfect and you know how sometimes you feel that there is not enough detail in a novella or they try to shove in too much, this story had just the right balance.

This being novella I don't want to give away too much of the story, but this is the story of Jasmine and Ethan.  Jasmine has been hurt by ex-finance and is dared by her best friend to get back out there by having a one-night-stand with a stranger.  Well, Ethan is the lucky man, but Jasmine gets scared and runs after their incredible night.  Jasmine is sent to work with the company that Ethan works for and for the two weeks she is there they grow closer and both Ethan and Jasmine must come to terms with the insecurities before they can have a HEA.

I have never read this Author before and from what I can tell this is her first book and it is a great debut!

    ARC Courtesy of Brazen/Entangled Publishing

A year ago Jasmine dumped her ex fiancé after finding out he got someone else pregnant. She lost her job, her future and above all her self respect. On her birthday her best friend dares her to take part in a one night stand in order to move on with her life. They have been placing dares to each other since they were 8, so of course she accepts it.

Sitting in a bar she meets Ethan when he comes to her rescue after yet another douchebag hits on her. They are immediately attracted to one another and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. After going back with him to his condo they share a rather intimate night together and the next morning after Ethan returns from his run eager to share some more time with her, he discovers that she has cut and run.

On her way home, she is at the airport about to board when her boss phones her and assigns her to Bode-Wynn a military company that she needs to go spend 2 weeks with in order to nail them as a contract. Once she arrives there, she discovers that her one night stand Ethan works there.

They decided to continue their relationship for the next 2 weeks because after all it wont last beyond that. Ethan knows what it is like to leave someone behind when he is on assignment as he has watched his team mates do it for years. He is never going to subject someone to his life style and Jasmine will never do the long distance relationship thing again. She lives in Dallas and he lives on the other side of the country, therefore it would never work. But 2 weeks is just enough time for both of them to work the other one out of their system, or is it???

This is a really sweet, short and sassy little novella that I read in one sitting, and as per usual with a Brazen, it will leave you with that perma smile on your face when you are done reading it.
