Take Me There [NOOK Book]

Not good

I read the reviews and thought it would be good. I think I should get my money back for this book. It is on my list of worst top 5 books I've ever read, and i read A LOT. Rhiannon really killed the entire book for me. I know many girls go through what she went through but it didn't seem believable to me. It seemed really forced and there really wasn't anything exciting or captivating in this book. Nicole's story was ok and Jame's was somewhat good (since many people are blinded by friendship and love so I could actually somewhat believe it); but other than that...don't waste your money.

Take Me There is wonderfully written

In Susane Colasanti's second novel you're pulled into the minds of three close friends just trying to make it happen for themselves. Set in busy NYC these three teens deal with both their personal problems and those of their friends. This book definitely explores some deeper concepts than When it Happens. Hints of abuse and rape are part of the story but Susane keeps it from being depressing by adding her usual humor.
One thing I love about Susane's books is that her narrators are always expressing really frank, compelling ideas about life, but in a natural way that doesn't disrupt from the plot. For example, James says, "It's amazing how you can be surrounded by so many people every day who care about you and still feel alone." People may worry that they sound like spoiled ingrates for saying something like this, but it's all too true. So much of what people long for are things like connection and community, the intangible, and the sense of being loved and understood. Susane finds a way of expressing what so many feel inside, and then she puts it out there for the world to see. It's brave and magnificent, and when I read her novels, I feel better about life. I have no doubt her books will have the same effect on many readers. Bravo!

Unforgettable

Realistic characters, teenager like writing perspective, and a shocking twist at the end: I couldn't put this book down! Not only was I amazed at the ending, but the way Susane Colasanti writes makes me want to buy every single one of her books! She writes in a way teenagers can relate to and enjoy. She's hilarious, and so was the book. I still can't get over the fact about the huge shocker at the end. I also love how she wrote it from three perspectives, so you got the entire view of what was happening. Take Me There is defiantly one to read, and I just loved reading it. I'm defiantly going to read it over and over again.

Rhiannon has just been dumped without a reason. She's miserable beyond belief. Nicole has just dumped her boyfriend with a reason. She's confused beyond belief. And James...James would do nearly anything to get Rhiannon to stop mooning over her ex and finally notice him as more than her buddy.

Over the course of a week, many things will happen to these three friends. There will be confessed secrets, messages on sidewalks, delivered flowers, a ton of photocopied notes, one awesome speech, and lots and lots of karma.

But in the end, will they discover what they truly want?

This realistically honest book told in three different points of view will blow you away. Ms. Colasanti has such a real talent for capturing the personality of teenagers, it's like she is one herself. Her plot is unique and her attention to delivery is grabbing.

Insightful, humorous, moving, and never dull, Colasanti's characters will feel like they're your best friends by the time you have finished this delightful novel.

My favorite, byyyy farrrr!:)

Omgosh, I enjoyed this book so much. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I also felt a little closer to my two best girlfriends after this easy read. I felt like I've lived through this all, each character, even James. I love stories like this, when they just involve everyday kids, none of that mystical creature...suck your blood...shape shifter stuff. I can relate to it, feel their feelings, understand and compare what they are dealing with while I maintain my grades and try staying awake in my 7 periods I'm forced into a day.
I just bought When It Happens, but haven't had time to read it....I've been busy writing english essays and cramming for biology tests. But now, I'm free and can't wait to enjoy this one!!:)

LOVED IT!!!!

This book was amazing... I read Susane Colasanti's first book (When It Happens) so i decided that i'd give this one a try and i was not sorry... I couldn't put it down... I let my friends read it and they loved it too... You should read it too.

Don't waste your money or time...

This book was so boring that I thought I might go into coma. I'm not from New York so I don't know the way teenagers speak over there but it's a torment having to read "and he was like", "and then I was like", "so 'LIKE' he said", "and then she goes", over and over and over again. This is the reason why I like authors that come right out of college and write teenage books because they still remember what it was like to be a teenager. Instead, we have all these old people that stupefy teenager's dialogs and actions.

GREAT AUTHOR,BAD BOOK

Please dont make this your first Susane Colosanti book!!!!!! Read her others first! This is by far her worst one!!!!!!!!!

Loved it!!!

This was a touching and funny book about three friends and you get to see things from their perspective which is really nice. The dialog is very real and the situations these teens are in is really amazing. They all have issues to deal with and there is some talk of rape and abuse, but its only glimpsed. Susane Colasanti keeps everything rolling and does not dwell on the negative, just uses it for effect and then keeps going. I could not put it down!!

Another Amazing Book by Susane i have read 4 of her other books and i completely can not put them down i have read this one in two days. Susane is amazing for allof you who dont like her as an author your insane i absolutley just love this book and the rest of them

Perfect Teen Read

I loved this book from the first page. I have read it over and over again at least ten times and will probably read it ten more!! I love how realistic the characters are. They sound like students taken right out of my high school. The problems they deal with are believable and relatable, too; dealing with break-ups, falling in love with your best friend, the unfairness and corruption of high school, etc. Even the way the characters talk, the slang they use and everything, makes them sound like they could be your best friend, standing right next to you. And the fact that the story is told from three alternating points-of-view keeps it from getting boring. I reccomend this book to teen girls who like Sarah Dessen novels or any contemporary rom-coms.

I liked this book! :)

I really liked this book, it was a fast read for me, I read it in less then a day. I love how you get the whole story from three different points of view, and without each view from all three characters then the story would be incomplete. The story is told through the eyes through Rhiannin, James, and Nicole, all are best friends living in New York attending the same high school. The story takes place in only one week. Rhiannin and her boyfriend Steve just broke and up Steve gave her no reason why. Rhiannin thought things were going great and that they were in love and is devestated. She does everything she can think of to get him back. Come to find out though he's dating her enemy Gloria, a really beautiful mean girl. Then there's James, Rhinannin is his best friend and he can't stand the way Steve just up and dumped her. He tries to convince her he's no good and to move on. James is really protective of Rhinannin when it comes to guys he thinks are not good enough for her. He gets really angry though when he buys her a guft and she doesn't even realize it's from him, he gets tired of chasing after her and figures it's time for her to come to him. James wishes for the day when he has a lot of money so he can have a huge place, he's sick and tired of the small apartment he shares with his family because he nevers has a mintue to himself there.Nicole has just dumped Danny, her first real boyfriend for reasons she doesn't even know herself. Even though they stay friends she finds it hard. She develops a crush on her math teacher Mr. Farrel and thinks he feels the same way towards her. Nicole keeps having memories of her past, which her friends don't know about and a past she would rather foget. This a great book about love and friendship and I really enjoyed it, I would suggest it to anyone looking for a good book.

Another Great Novel from Susane Colasanti

Rhiannon, Nicole, and James are three friends in New York City ¿ three friends with problems. Rhiannon is having trouble getting over her recent breakup with her boyfriend Steve, and she¿s desperate to get him back. Nicole is also getting over a breakup, but she was the one who instigated this one. The reason for this lies rooted in Nicole¿s past and a secret she¿s not ready to reveal. James¿ love life is pretty bland. He¿s got a hot girlfriend, but that girlfriend is insanely jealous of James¿ close friendship with Rhiannon and thus dumps him. It takes a little prompting from an elderly neighbor for James to realize who he¿s truly in love with. Together, these friends will battle mean girls, old demons, and find who they really love. I loved Susane Colasanti¿s writing style of alternate narrators in her first novel When It Happens, but in this one, I felt it was a little two much with the three narrators. It got a little confusing with three points of view of the same event occurring, especially because it was about 50 pages later. Another issue I had was that there was just a little too much going on in the novel. There were the boyfriend/girlfriend problems, the family problems, and the secrets. It was a little too much for me. However, even though there were a couple aspects of the novel I disliked, I loved the rest of it. The characterization of each friend is excellent, and I really felt I got to know Rhiannon, Nicole, and James. They each have a unique story, all of which I loved. Susane Colasanti has a way of weaving each of their stories together to create this fantastic novel. Although I liked When It Happens better, I still loved Take Me There. Anyone who wants to read about perfect true love should definitely read Susane Colasanti¿s novels and also look out for her upcoming novel, Waiting For You.

Omg

I loved this book and it only took me twodays to read tht is how good the book is and i can kind of relate to it in gow they all feel and i would recomend this book for anyone who likes romance with a twist.. an amazing book!!!!!!
