Overview

Danny's gotten REVENGE and broken his JINX. He might finally shed his LOSER status once and for all ... but where would be the hilarity in that?

Danny Shine is just trying to avoid wrestling Bruiser Pekarsky in gym -- that's why he goes to the info session about running for class president. Even when he's forced to put his name on the ballot, Danny isn't worried. With Chantal Davis running, no one will even know he's there.

But when Chantal gets disqualified, she decides to throw her support behind Danny. Now he might actually have to step up and lead the 7th grade ... and find out that sometimes, even when you win, you lose!

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Praise for LOSER LIST
"The story unfolds in a handwritten-looking font on lined pages amid ample spot illustrations. Danny's cartoons, sidebars, and lists (Top Three Signs You're Going to
Summer School) should enhance the book's appeal for reluctant readers." --PUBLISHERS WEEKLY

"Danny's humorous line drawings help tell the story, making this a fun and accessible book for reluctant readers and comics fans." --BOOKLIST

Praise for LOSER LIST #2: REVENGE OF THE LOSER
"Written in the same style as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (Abrams), this title will definitely appeal to reluctant readers." --SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL

"Danny's lively, humorous, journal-like narrative, which is interspersed with his cartoons, incorporates issues ranging from insecurity and jealousy to appreciating others. An entertaining school-centric read that's ideal for reluctant readers and comic book fans." --BOOKLIST

Children's Literature - Ellen Welty
Danny prefers to remain largely invisible at school so he cannot be blamed for anything that goes wrong. The wrestling coach in his PE class announces that there will be an in-class match between all the students and Danny gets paired up with a big jock, who has a reputation for annihilating his opponents. Danny decides to run for class president so that he can attend the information meeting and miss the PE class. He thinks there is no chance that he will get elected because one of the most popular girls in the class is running against him. Unfortunately, she is disqualified and she decides to support him. Danny is elected because of her support and he discovers that the outgoing class president had avoided making any decisions. When Danny tries to take that route, however, things start to go wrong and soon he is facing a leadership crisis. Fans of “The Loser List” series will like this latest addition, and new readers will enjoy reading about someone with whom most of them can relate. As the previous titles in the series, this one is presented in handwriting-style font on lined pages with hand drawn illustrations. Recommended. Book four in the “Loser List” series. Reviewer: Ellen Welty; Ages 8 to 12.
