Take One

Although this title is not Adam Lambert's official debut CD release, fans of the American Idol rocker will want to add this disc -- recorded prior to his appearance on the show -- to their Idol collection.

Like many fledgling professional musicians, Adam Lambert needed to take any opportunity presented to him when he was trying to break into the business, so he recorded many sessions as a demo vocalist, singing songs others had written in hopes that they themselves would break into the business. Like many once-struggling musicians who happened to achieve stardom, Lambert was subjected to those early recordings being released just when the iron was hot -- hence, the release of Take One, a collection of demos he cut in 2005, in the same month of his proper post-Idol debut, For Your Entertainment. Take One has little to do with Lambert's glamazon image but quite a bit to do with Idol-styled pageantry, with every one of its 14 tracks a midtempo ballad. Lambert's performances aren't necessarily memorable, but that's unfair to him: these recordings were designed to sell middle-of-the-road pop with commercial aspirations and the whole point is to showcase the lyric and melody. Lambert acquits himself in that regard, sounding like nothing more than a demo singer because that was, after all, what he was.

    Adam Lambert "Take One"

I think Adam Lambert is the most outstanding male entertainer of this time. I enjoy everything he does and can't get enough. "Take One" is more mellow than his previous CD "For Your Entertainment". At first I kept waiting for a more dramatic sound but the more I hear "Take One" I appreciate the softer side of Adam. Can't wait for his next CD.

This album was not endorsed by Adam... I'm not buying it

Adam Lambert made these unfinished demos before he was famous. They decided to try to cash in on Adam's fame despite him asking them not to. I listened to the samples and personally I don't like the overall sound of these songs. "Want" is the only song I like, his voice sounds amazing, but the production and background music does not seem to be as professionally done as For Your Entertainment, which is Adam's official debut album. Support Adam and buy For Your Entertainment :) See below.

    Fantastic

Great to listen too. The words of the songs, the sound of his voice, and the way the music was produced, is one of the best I've heard in some time. The music is soulful and very meaningful. Forget, the past and look forward to Adam Lambert's talent.

This is NOT Adam Lamberts DEBUT ALBUM!

Before Adam Lambert became a sensation on American Idol, he was a struggling artist in LA and therefore recorded songs -- sometimes his own, sometimes demo-for-pay. THIS ALBUM takes ADVANTAGE of those early recordings. The company made a big splash in the summer with a single release that NO ONE BOUGHT because they are just looking to cash in and Adam Lambert gets nothing. They set up a "summer" date for a CD release called "On With The Show." Their attempt failed so miserably, that they did not release the cd. But now it's back, under a new name, under a new recording label imprint and set to release within a week of Adam's TRUE debut CD. They are hoping to confuse the buying public. DO NOT BUY THIS CD.

BUY Adam Lamberts DEBUT CD from RCA called "FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT" out November 23rd. I've got it listed under my recommendation!

This is NOT Adam Lambert's new CD. It's a RIP OFF!!!

This company tried to pull the same stunt in the summer... Here's Adam's response at the time...

"Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded back in 2005 were being released. Since then I discovered the entire track listing, revealed online today. I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album. Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public. I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press, and I'm very disappointed by this entire situation."
    Adam Lambert

The same comment applies yet again!!!!

Adam's official debut album is titled "For Your Entertainment" and will be available for sale on November 23rd, although it is already available for pre-order.
